a month agoThe trails were awesome, nice hills and big trees. Several splits along the way and pretty serene. It’s not young kids friendly because of the bikers. We ran into some that were very good and announcing but some just riding very fast and we barely had time to dodge. Signs said YIELD to pedestrian not run into them.

10 months agoThis park is a true hidden gem of Houston. Please note that the map provided on the official website is NOT accurate. I’ve attached a photo of a map provided Greater Houston Off Road Biking Association, which was very accurate and informative. We walked 6 miles along the bike trails. We saw splendid views of the water ways, abundant water foul and wildlife. Wildflowers were in full bloom in April and made the trip extra special. Cyclists were very friendly and it was easy to navigate around them. The trials are sandy with some elevation, but easy walking. The paved path which runs in the middle of the park is very level and well maintained. It would be say to do with children 5 and up. However, please be aware that there are few resources along the trial. Almost no bathrooms except at the parking area and at the skate park, both port-a-potties. Bring plenty of water, bug spray, and sun screen. Also, there are several road ways and bridges which will need to be crossed to make an extended hike beyond the paved path. Also, the path on the southern most end of the park is the unidirectional, so plan your route to go clockwise if looking for a long hike. I can’t encourage you to explore this wonderful park enough. It’s is one of the best places to connect with nature in Houston we have found yet.

4 months agoGreat place to take your family for a beautiful afternoon stroll on the trails. But lately there has been an issue, with the BMX/XGAME BIKE Riders, our daughter was almost hit because somebody decided to make a home made ramp put off on the street and ride down like a maniac. My family and I come here all the time and have never had issue until recently. We love this trail come here always but it seems dangerous now, especially when the EXTREME bike riders give no warning of ill intentions on these trails. We will continue to walk these trails with our kids, in the hopes that these "XGAME Riders" will show more courtesy to pedestrians. Thank you for this beautiful park and I ask that everyone please stay safe out there.

2 years agoLots of walking trails. Dogs loved it. Up and down terrain so wear tennis shoes! Many different varieties of mushrooms! Not edible though so don't eat them.
