in the last weekThe Atlanta History Center was genuinely one of the most incredible places I have ever set foot in. We learned so much in the span of the couple hours we were there. As visitors from Orlando, the Atlanta History Center really allowed us to experience Atlanta culture and the rich history that the city has. We did the guided tour of the Smith Farm and our tour guide was great - she also tended the farm along with a man who I don’t remember the name of. Both of them were so sweet and made our trip very memorable. We also got to pet some adorable goats at the farm. The one thing I will say is, get there early and plan to spend the day. We thought we would be able to get through the museum in 3 hours but we weren’t able to explore the gardens and a few of the exhibits due to time. We plan to visit again and explore the rest of the AHC. This visit was the highlight of our trip. Thank you to everyone who makes this place possible, and the experience so surreal. To get to experience this was a privilege.

3 months agoHighly recommend! This is the best museum in Atlanta, with so much to see and plenty of activities for kids. The theater experience is a must-see, and the staff is incredibly kind and informative. Plus, free parking is a huge bonus! Don’t forget to check out the beautiful garden behind the building—it’s a hidden gem.

a week agoI took my two young children to this museum and it was well worth the ticket price. There is a children's area that has many interactive elements as well as a physical play space; it also has a baby safe space. The entire museum was designed with families in mind. There is a small theater, a few different rooms indoors with exhibits but, in my opinion, the outdoor space was the highlight of the trip. There are 3 distinct outdoor spaces traveling through the living history of Atlanta. Each space is fully explorable and two of the three areas have children sized play homes built to replicate those time periods. My family spent 5 hours at this museum and my kids did not want to leave. I would highly suggest checking this museum out!

6 months agoAs a Bank of America cardholder 💳, I love taking advantage of their monthly perk: the "Museums on Us" program, where cardholders get free admission to select museums on the first weekend of every month. Today, I visited the Atlanta History Center and saved a cool $27—such a great deal! 🙌 This museum offers a deep dive into Georgia's rich history, covering everything from Lincoln’s contributions to major battles, daily life, entertainment, and so much more. 🏛️ In the back, there's a beautiful garden 🌸 that's perfect for a relaxing stroll and some fresh air. If you're planning a visit, I recommend going between 9–11:30 AM for the best experience. Have fun and enjoy your time! 🎉

3 months agoPopped in to take a look at the Goizueta Children’s Experience. It’s exactly what’s needed for kids 1-8 It’s 5,000 sq. ft. space where kids ages 1–8 can explore Atlanta through play and storytelling. Enjoy fun activities like the Time Machine Climber and Mini Fox Theater. Lots of practical activities for kids. The magic is that it balances some of the more adult focused exhibitions (eg. Golf) meaning the whole family will have a fun visit.
