Perfect For

Young Children (2-8 years): Excellent for, due to the presence of a designated playground and open, shaded areas for play.
Families with Pets: While 'pet friendly', parents must be highly vigilant due to reports of uncontrolled animals.
All Ages (for general recreation): Walking paths, fitness equipment, and picnic areas are suitable for a wide range of ages, including teens and adults.

Ideal For

Family picnics or large group events (e.g., alumni reunions) requiring open space and picnic facilities.
Outdoor playdates for children, especially those who enjoy playgrounds and shaded areas.
Leisurely walks, jogging, or using outdoor fitness equipment.
Dog owners who appreciate space for their pets (with caution due to lack of leash enforcement by some).

💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • Parents should be highly vigilant regarding their children around other pets, as there are reports of uncontrolled and unleashed dogs that pose a safety risk.
  • Be prepared for potentially subpar grilling facilities if planning to use them, as they are noted to need fixing.
  • Manage expectations for restrooms; the primary option near the track is a unisex outhouse.
  • Consider visiting if you prioritize shaded areas, outdoor exercise, or picnicking with basic facilities.
  • It's a good choice for group gatherings like alumni picnics due to its open space and amenities.

Things to Consider

  • The park's grills are in poor condition and 'could definitely use some fixing up'.
  • Unpleasant odors reported, with specific mentions of 'bad sweat and good marijuana' permeating the air, which may detract from a family-friendly atmosphere.
  • Restroom facilities are limited to a 'unisex outhouse' close to the track, which may be inadequate or uncomfortable for some families.
  • Significant safety concern due to 'people out there with large pets that they can't control or pets not on leashes', posing danger to children, adults, and other pets.

Price & Value

Appears to be a free public park, offering good value for its amenities including a playground, walking paths, picnic areas, and fitness equipment, as no admission fees or specific costs were mentioned.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • Paved walking path suggests general accessibility for strollers and potentially wheelchairs.
  • Open and clean areas facilitate movement.
  • No specific accommodations for special needs were explicitly mentioned in the reviews.

🚗Parking Info

  • Free parking is readily available; reviews state 'lots of parking' and that 'parking... is good'.

👥Crowd Levels

  • No specific information provided regarding crowd levels or peak busy times.

🛡️Safety Features

  • Designated area for children's play helps to separate kids from other park activities.
  • **Significant Safety Deficit:** A major concern is the reported presence of uncontrolled and unleashed large pets, which poses a safety risk to children, adults, and other pets in the park.

When to Avoid

  • If you are highly sensitive to strong or unpleasant odors in a public park setting.
  • If you expect modern, clean, and private restroom facilities easily accessible throughout the park.
  • If you are uncomfortable with the presence of potentially uncontrolled or unleashed large dogs around your children or smaller pets.
  • If pristine, fully functional grilling facilities are essential for your outing.

The walking track is appreciated. The fitness equipment is functional and the artwork is unique and expressive. The grills could definitely use some fixing up and the air smells of bad sweat and good marijuana all over the park. Which isn't terrible but you're looking for a nice leisurely stroll. There are definitely better options. After a few laps I actually crossed over to the Golf Park which had a much better view and much nicer surroundings. The only restrooms available close to the track is a unisex outhouse.

Clean and open area. There's places to grill, picnic tables, a playground, a golf course, lots of parking, and very shaded by trees. The walking path is clearly marked and paved.

My only problem are the people out there with large pets that they can't control or pets notion leashes. It's dangerous for children, grown-ups, and other pets.
