Audubon Zoo

This zoo was the best zoo either of us had ever been to. I'm not a huge zoo enthusiast so maybe I'm just unaware but this was the first zoo that had so many open enclosures in that you could view these amazing animals and get great photos without having to do so between bars. Big cats were mostly caged but other animals had space where they could be viewed without obstructions. We were also able to view animals we have never seen living on the west side of the United States. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience. Definitely recommend! It's helpful to note that the zoo is a few miles away from the aquarium!

Absolutely beautiful zoo. Easy free parking or paid premium parking at the front. Children's interactive areas sprinkled into the whole park. Themed walking sections such as Asia and Africa and Swamp, with mostly open air animal enclosures. There are plenty of kiosks for snacks and drinks. Without children, we completed the tour in 2 hours. Completely wheelchair, scooter, and stroller accessible. There is a small optional water park with a lazy river. Each gift shop has unique items. Pro tip: With aquarium ticket purchase, the zoo was only $8 more as a bundle ticket. We went from 3-5 pm on a Thursday with no crowds.

This was an amazing zoo! I'm so glad that we were able to visit. The exhibits were beautiful, and the animals appeared very happy and cared for. I liked seeing some animals that I didn't get to see at my local zoo. My favorites were the primates, the aviary, the swamplands, and the beautiful flamingos.

Great place to take the kids. We bought the package deal for the zoo and aquarium, cheaper that way. Get there right when it opens, 10am, so you have time to see it all! The zoo has lots of animals to see. Bring a portable charger with you if taking pictures with your phone. Bring snacks and water with you. You can bring strollers or wagons for the kids to ride in. They do have places to sit and eat, but it's a bit pricey. They also have a splash pad for kids. Call ahead of time to see if that part is open. It was closed in March. There is a few indoor enclosures to see reptiles and other worldly birds. We went on a Tuesday and wasn't crowded. We enjoyed going

We are on vacation love to check out zoos in various areas. Audobon Zoo is one of our favorites, second only to The Bronx Zoo. 10/10 would recommend visiting. Ticket prices are reasonable, and general entry is included with encounter purchases, which we did. The layout is great for meandering through and seeing all the highlight animals. There are plenty of seating and refreshment areas throughout each section. Each area also pays homage to the culture of the people instead of simply being focused on the animals, which is an excellent bonus many zoos don't have. It took us about 5 hours to walk the whole zoo. In addition to viewing the animals, we did an animal encounter and met the zoo's male white rhino, Saba. This is a new encounter experience for the zoo and only their second week offering it, but we never would have known had they not told us. The staff was prepared, courteous, and knowledgeable. They were able to answer all of our questions and gave us a lot of information in a way that didn't feel overwhelming or really even like learning. Again, 10/10 would recommend this experience.
