a month agoA beautiful park to walk around - you can do the entire 8 mile look or just an out and back. We went towards the end of the day (it does require a state park pass or a payment) and enjoyed a 4 mile out and back. There are bathrooms available at the nature center as well as electric vehicle charging stations. Plenty of parking - nice wide path - it is not hiking - it is a nice little walk -great if people are visiting from out of town (non-acclimated peeps).

11 months agoI would rate this as One of the hidden gems in Denver. It is around 30 miles drive from Denver and easy to find on the google maps. There are different entry points of this state park region, do not follow the apple maps, you might end up at a wrong location. The lake is Amazing, has boating, fishing and picnic areas. It is surrounded by natural trails for a walk or run. You will also encounter some wildlife and birds around the lake. Sunset views will blow your mind. Highly recommend this lake for a day trip. Remember, you can not take your pets on th trails.

a year agoWe had such a great time! My son is 10 and we went inside the center first.. it was great! We did all the activities and then sat on the couch and admired the birds for 30 minutes or so. Then we went for a 2 mile walk and laughed and shared so many hugs along the way! Great place y'all!

a year agoThere has been a lot of new water, turning some areas into more of a swamp, however, beautiful place, lots of cool birds..and a snake (eek)! Bring insect repellant (we forgot.. big mistake) as the moisture has caused a baby boom in bugs, contributing to the excitement and gleeful singing of the birds! Don't let the bugs bother you. It's worth it.
