2 weeks agoWe recently took a group family hike to the Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge, and it was an awesome experience for all ages. The trail is well-maintained and not too difficult, making it super family-friendly. We had kids, teens, and even grandparents in our group, and everyone made it to the bridge without any issues. The hike offers just the right amount of challenge to feel like an adventure without being too strenuous. Along the way, there are beautiful views of the canyon, and once you reach the bridge, it’s a fun and exciting payoff—especially for the younger ones. The bridge itself is sturdy and safe, but still gives that little thrill of walking above the canyon, which the kids loved. We brought snacks and took a break near the bridge to soak in the views and snap some group photos. It was a great bonding experience, and the trail had enough space for everyone to walk and talk without feeling crowded. If you’re looking for a scenic, manageable, and enjoyable hike that’s perfect for families or larger groups, Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge is definitely worth checking out. We’ll be back for sure!

4 weeks agoThis is a 2 mile round trip hike to the suspension and back. It is uphill to the bridge and downhill on the return trip. If you wish, you can hike the loop that way the return trip is not a repeat of the first part of the journey. I hiked this trail on a weekend so there were quit a few folks on the trail. Which means the parking lots were pretty full. This trail is dog friendly. There are plenty signs around to remind you to pick up after your pet. There are bags provided at the trail head to assist with this request. This hike does not provide any shade. Hats, sunglasses and sunscreen is helpful.

4 weeks agoA great spot to hike. Several moderate trails with spectacular view of the valley and snow capped mountain ranges. Mountain bikers and dog owners are welcome here. Definite recommendation if you’re in the Draper Area. You can get to the Suspension bridge from the Orsen Smith trailhead or take the long way down the Bonneville Shoreline Trail from the Rocky Mouth Waterfall trail in Sandy. Either way it’s worth it. Enjoy!!

2 months agoWhat a great hike. The bridge is beautiful, and even sways a bit if you want it to. Do the loop, but don't take the 1st rt. Go clockwise, it's better.

8 months agoAmazing view at sunset. The trails are in good shape. It's an easy hike a little steep in places, but nothing a small child couldn't do. It's a place you want to bring water cause there is little to no shade. This is a hike the whole family could enjoy just to get out of the house and go somewhere. There is plenty of parking as long you dont go early in the morning on a weekend. I enjoyed the hike and loved the view.
