a year agoThis Camp I've had the joy of being around for a few years now. The Staff is personal, accommodating and very direct about confronting any problems. My child has left with a smile and is very missed. We are of multi-racial background mostly Puerto Rican, Afican/ Native American descent. A Good Portion of the bus drivers are people of color and our driver treats the family with the utmost respect. I noticed some of the bad reviews say "Don't bring your kids if you are of color" but the truth is we haven't had those issue from the institution at large. Some kids just don't know how to act. For the very few incidence I hear about they get taken care of.

2 years agoGreat place to have a large picnic! Only drawback was you can't bring your own food and they pre-cooked the burgers and dogs, so they were cold. But the facilities (pools, pavilions, lake, toilets) were great! Just spread pretty far apart for our group of disabled people, but staff-driven carts available. Must be an awesome summer camp!!

4 years agoI was very excited when I found a camp close to my home but when my son started the camp we started having problems. We are an African American family and my son was descriminated against by the camp teenagers who where working there as camp counselers and the baseball coach who was mean and very discrimatory towards my son. He was yelling at him and putting him down. When I found out I immediately brought this to the attention of the leaders of the camp. They where not surprised at all. They tried to reaasuure me that this would not happren again, but the damage was already done. I did not feel comfortable leaving my son there in there care and I also did not want him to have to go through anymore mental trauma, of feeling as if he was less than by people who hated themselves. Our money was refunded only half. I would not reccommend anyone of color to go to this place. Damage was created here and it took a while to repair. I later found out my son almost drowned and nobody ever told me. They do not do swim tests and there. We found another camp where it more affordable because this camp the prices are outrageous. I do not reccommend this camp. My neibhors tried to tell me but I wanted to give them a chance. Bad mistake and my child paid for it.I wish I could have given them no stars a zero because of the damage that was done.

6 years agoThis is my son's second year at Beth Tfiloh. It's a wonderful experience! My daughter loved the atmosphere at my son's open house so much so that she wants to attend next summer.
