💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • Bring your own drinks and water bottles, as there are no water sources directly at the playground area.
  • If visiting in winter or off-season, be aware that the splash pad and other outdoor water features will not be operational.
  • Check ahead or manage expectations regarding the visibility of farm animals, as they may not always be present in their enclosures.
  • Allocate time for both the outdoor playground and the indoor nature center to fully experience the venue, especially on colder days.

Things to Consider

  • Splash pad and other water features (like the 'Rock River') are seasonal and are not operational in colder months (e.g., December).
  • No water fountains or drink vendors are located directly at the playground area; visitors need to bring their own drinks or walk to the main building.
  • Farm animals (pigs, cows, chickens) are not consistently visible; they 'have not been out recently' according to one review.

Price & Value

The playground area has a specific admission fee of $2 or $3, dependent on residency, offering good value for a full day of diverse activities combining both outdoor and indoor attractions. No other explicit costs are mentioned, but bringing your own drinks is advisable.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • Nice public bathrooms are available and noted for their cleanliness.
  • Walking trails offer 'many ways to walk' suggesting varied terrain or paths.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • Picnic tables are available in a dedicated picnic area for families to bring and enjoy their own food.
  • Visitors should bring their own drinks, particularly for the playground area, as none are readily available there.

🚗Parking Info

  • Not explicitly detailed, but a 'building' (likely the nature center) is located 'just a ways up the path' from the playground, implying a parking area is associated with the main facility.

When to Avoid

  • Visiting in winter if the primary goal is splash pad use or extensive water play, as these features will be off.
  • Expecting farm animals to always be visible and accessible, as their presence is not guaranteed.

We love going to the outdoor playground, but during the winter we were looking for something warm inside and their nature center was perfect! It has an indoor turtle garden, a great play area for kids for pretend animal play, and science experiments and exploration and a wonderful nature library. There are also several fish tanks and many stuffed animals to look at. Also, the staff was absolutely wonderful.

We’re gonna come back another time. we went here and we saw a bison and a rope bridge and some oversize musical instruments and a walking trail and a splash pad, but it wasn’t on because it was December and then a lot of water features that also went on, but we walked through them anyway, and climbed over a lot of stuff.

Fabulous nature park. Great for kids. The playground area is either $2 or $3 depending on residency. It has several areas of things to keep kids active and amused. There's even a tiny little Rock River area with a little waterfall. That's only a few in deep. Just enough to have some splashy fun in. There's also a sand digging area and climbing fort area and a few other places of interest. There are nice public bathrooms available. The only thing I didn't find was water anywhere near the playground. So if you need drinks bring them or maybe head over to the building which is just a ways up the path but not right at the playground. The grandkids had amazing time. They are 7 and 8-year-olds place is suitable for I would say kids from 2 to 12.

Love this place. Especially the farm on the other side. It is a very nice walk. Lots of life many ways to walk even when you've been there a couple times you can always find a new path. The restroom was very clean. Especially for a park bathroom. Picnic area has a couple tables. We didn't use those but they could be a nice place to eat. The farm part usually has pigs cows and chickens. But they have not been out recently which is stinky.
