I checked this place out after visiting the zoo today. The place is beautiful inside and out, complete with a fireplace and modern design for the interior. It's situated on a sparkling body of water with ducks and paddleboats. I had the cod basket. It cost $15, but the quality did not reflect the price. If I ever come back, I won't be getting it again. I suggest you don't either.

This was in 2022 at The Boathouse. The food was delish, paddle boats are a must, and the view is gorgeous 🥰 Not to mention the staff were awesome! Can't wait to go back this spring 😍

Dining at the Boathouse at Forest Park in St. Louis is a relaxing and memorable experience. Nestled lakeside in the heart of the park, it offers scenic views, dog-friendly patio seating, and a diverse menu—from pulled pork sandwiches to fresh salads and signature cocktails. You can even rent paddleboats or kayaks to explore the surrounding waterways. Great food, beautiful atmosphere, and fun outdoor activities make it a must-visit spot in St. Louis.

Review of The Boathouse: A Charming Retreat in St. Louis During our anniversary trip to St. Louis, my husband and I discovered The Boathouse, and it quickly became a highlight of our visit! This quaint little spot is nestled in the heart of Forest Park, offering a delightful mix of charm and serenity that truly feels like a hidden resort. As we approached, the barrier of lush privacy trees enveloped the area, instantly creating a sense of escape from the outside world. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Our waitress was incredibly helpful and friendly, sharing details about the weekend events happening in the city. Her recommendations were exactly what we needed to enhance our anniversary celebration and explore more of what St. Louis has to offer. One of the highlights of our visit was the opportunity to rent paddle boats, which sounded like so much fun! Unfortunately, we weren’t dressed for it, but the idea of gliding across the water while taking in the stunning views was tempting. The early morning atmosphere was absolutely magical, with soft light reflecting off the water and a gentle breeze that made it all feel so idyllic. If you’re looking for a charming spot to relax and soak in the beauty of Forest Park, The Boathouse is a must-visit. We can’t wait to return—next time, we’ll be ready for those paddle boats!

This place is a quiet, welcoming environment for breakfast, but the operational tempo is much higher at lunch. You get views of the park and the lake whenever you come. The brisket is always good, including with eggs at breakfast. You can also order from the lunch menu at breakfast, and the sides are pretty good.
