3 months agoVery nice scenery, with a saguaro gate on the Yetman trail, from the Sarasota trailhead. The stone house walls are all intact.

a year agoI hiked here from the Marriott. About 35 minutes one way and about A little over 1 mile. Stable elevation the entire time. A couple ups and downs but nothing major. No shade so bring water and proper attire. Lots of flowers in bloom so a great time of year to do this. Trail was marked super easy to find. Would recommend

a year agoOne of my all time favorites, especially at sunrise or sunset. The density of Saguaros is insane and the views from the house are some of the best in the world. I enjoyed complete silence on my last visit and spotted a bunch of deer along the ridge near the wash. Very quiet on weekdays, gets busier on weekends. Well shaded in the first half of the hike through the wash unless you're at high noon. Not too long for kids and a great payoff, just mind the temps during hot days and bring water. Takes about 45 minutes total without kids. You can connect this with other trails in the Tucson Mountains by continuing on past the house. Also accessible from the Star Pass trail/resort but mainly from Camino de Oeste trailhead.

7 years agoIdeal for a sunset hike. You can enjoy some snacks at the historical Bowen house while watching the sunset and you get back in less than two hours. This hike does not require to go far to feel remote, that’s a good point if you don’t like long hikes :)

a year agoloved hiking and finding that a house was once built out in the middle of nowhere. Great place for family pictures, but a hike to get there!
