a week agoWhile the summer might change this, it was so peaceful walking around. Not a lot of people, plenty of leisurely pacing and space. So cool to see (and hear!) the peacocks and peahens. The giraffe is finally out and about. Unfortunately the Flamingo Cafe water fountains weren't working, but we brought our own so plan ahead if you want free water. Otherwise it's a little costly ($4 a bottle.) Also, the playground has a roped off section. Hopefully they are able to fix that area. The family membership is paid by just 3 visits for us (2 adults, three kids) so if you plan on going, get the membership! Also, there are park perks if you go often enough. It's a small zoo, but worth it just for the nature and getting out of the house. The hippos (Spencer and Ginger) were my kids' favorite.

a week agoI went with my daughter's school, it is a nice zoo, but it looks like it needs more work done. The animals are beautiful of course. Walk around for a long time because each exhibit is spaced out very far between each other and it is not a lot to do except for a lot of walking. However it is a beautiful place to look at beautiful animals. That is it! 😉

2 months agoEverything was very clean including the bathrooms. Everything was reasonably priced. Admission was $10 per person. The train ride was $3 per person and lasted around 20 minutes. The workers were very nice. Trash cans and maps were spread out throughout the park. Some of the animals need friends but other than that, I would highly recommend going and will be back.

a week agoVery nice and organized zoo. Wide walkways, fairly level and even for wheelchairs and strollers. Staff was pleasant. Cafe lady wasn't listening or paying attention to me when ordering lunch, and got nearly everything wrong, but if that's the worst thing that happened, then it was a good day! We frequent zoos across the country and would return to this one!

a month agoLove our little community zoo. It's not a big municipal zoo but it is ours. There are many activities to join including having parties and an art exhibit.Today I'm at the Zippity Zoo Days event where there are a lot of activities. I missed when I couldn't go after doctors' orders. Work is still being done but the updates are great. I love that the gift shop has educational things and fun stuff that benefit the zoo. I hope an elephant exhibit can return as I was a kid who saved pennies for the first one. The bricks of donors are still on the walkway but the sign marking Buckskin Bill's penny walk to bring a zoo and an elephant here should be put back. I advise getting a zoo membership and getting the family pack. I got one incase the great nephews and nieces visit but my daughter and I go on our own and she is grown up now.
