5 months agoCamelback Mountain is a challenging hike, especially for the average hiker. While I did see some families with kids on the trail, I’d recommend it for ages 13 and up due to the physical demands and terrain. The hike is absolutely worth it for the stunning views, but preparation is key. Bring gloves, as you’ll need to use your hands to navigate certain sections, and a backpack to carry essentials like water and your phone—keeping your hands free is crucial for safety.

7 months agoBy far one of the best hikes I have been on!! It was quite challenging but I pushed and pushed through. Definitely lots of parts on the trail where you’re using your hands to assist. During the hot weather days, definitely start early. We arrived around 6:20 am and parking lot was full. This trail was definitely difficult but doable. My husband and I finished it in 2 hours.

6 months agoWent to visit my family in Phoenix and was challenged to hike the Echo trail at Camelback. Wow. What an experience. Honestly, I was not prepared for the difficulty of the trail. It is a beast and not for the faint of heart. Steep climbs, rocky steep hills to navigate. Have to start early in the AM to beat the heat, wear appropriate hiking attire and take lots of water! The payoff are breathtaking views and the thrill of the accomplishment!
