Camp JORI

I attended Camp JORI for many years as a camper, staff member, administrator, and volunteer. Camp JORI is such an amazing camp, helping with scholarships for families that can’t afford it while providing the same amazing experience for all children. Camp JORI is not only an amazing camp, but is truly a home away from home for me and many other alumni and current campers. I love Camp JORI so much that my wife and I decided to have our wedding there!

As someone who attended Camp Jori from ages 9 through 15 (+2 years as a counselor), I can say with complete confidence that this place isn’t just a summer camp—it’s a foundation. For parents considering where their child will thrive, I want to share why Jori stands out. Before Jori, I’d never stepped foot on a sailboat, and found the concept somewhat daunting altogether. Still, the waterfront staff eventually convinced my friends and I to go for a sail, and it quickly became our favorite part of the week. A few summers later, after much personalized instruction from the waterfront director (thanks Howie!), we graduated on to taking the boats out on our own. Eventually, as a counselor, it became me who was pitching campers on the idea of going for a sail. This is one of countless such anecodtes I could share that showcase Jori’s unique ability to balance structure with freedom, giving kids the space to try new things in a supportive environment without ever feeling forced. What truly sets Jori apart, though, is the community. The friends I made there nearly 20 years ago are still my closest circle. We’ve celebrated milestones, supported each other through challenges, and stayed connected across states and time zones. If you’re looking for a place where your child will grow and belong, Camp Jori is it. The confidence I gained, the friendships I cherish, and the connection to my roots are gifts that still shape me. For any family seeking a summer home that feels like family, Jori is worth every moment.

My daughter's have been going to Camp Jori for the past 6 summers. They love the tight knit community and keep in touch with their friends through out the year despite us living many states away. The facilities are great, dinning hall has air conditioning and the lake front is top notch. This camp has everything a kids needs to have a great summer. The leadership staff have been working hard over the past 5-6 years and the camp gets better and better every year.

Love this place! Spent my childhood growing up here, creating so many memories and life long friends. From every member of my family, starting with my mom to my younger siblings, we can all share the unforgettable experiences we have had attending Camp Jori! Proud to be an Alumni!

I attended JORI as a camper for three years and was on staff for four. There is no better place to spend a summer! Great facilities, staff, activities, and community. If you're looking for summer activities for your child, I would highly recommend booking a tour to see Camp JORI!
