Camp Program

Old-fashioned day camp experience with a variety of activities.

Young adults learn leadership skills and counselor responsibilities through a structured program.

- •Mandatory Two Week Training (Week 5: July 7-11, Week 6: July 14-18)
- •One week CIT internship (choice of Week 7: July 21-25 or Week 8: July 28-August 1)
- •Experience working with different age groups alongside trained counselors and lifeguards

🍎Food Policy
- • Campers need to bring a lunch (in a cooler bag or one that does not need to be refrigerated).
- • Camp Pegnita is not a nut-free campus.
- • Families are asked to try to refrain from sending nut products in child’s lunch.
- • Any snacks provided by Camp Pegnita will not contain nut products.
🛡️Safety Policy
- • Staff undergoes rigorous training.
- • All counselors attend pre-camp training including First Aid and CPR certification.
- • At least two certified lifeguards supervise the pool at all times.
- • Lifeguards are certified and trained by the American Red Cross to give swimming lessons.
- • Campers aged 5 to 12 receive swimming lessons every morning.
- • Deep-water test administered by lifeguards for children to swim in the deeper section of the pool (2.5' to 6' depth). Campers can re-take the test.
- • Archery equipment designed for children ages 5 and up, with firm safety rules.
- • Every staff member is required to provide a current police background check before employment each summer.
- • References are thoroughly checked for staff.
- • Campers should wear close-toed shoes to avoid injury.

7 years agoI went to Camp Pegnita every summer growing up and I can't wait til my boys are old enough that I can send them. Some of my absolute favorite memories growing up are from my summers spent there. I hope my boys will get the opportunity for the same joys.
