One of my favorite parks. It doesn’t look big on the map vs other parks, but you could easily get lost in here on the trails. Lush rain forest and gorgeous sunsets. Go at low tide and see the marine life in the tide pools!

The best park for those who love trains on the beach. No... Seriously. This park has something for everyone. Trains, stairs, beach, water, you name it, this park has it! I seriously love Carkeek. It's so nice to have such a beautiful and exotic nature preserve so tucked into the city.

It is a hidden gem in Seattle, offering breathtaking views of Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, and lush forested trails. The park’s blend of natural beauty and recreational amenities makes it a perfect spot for families, nature lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts. The playground is a hit with kids, while the expansive picnic areas and open fields provide plenty of space for gatherings or quiet relaxation. One of the highlights is the beach access, where you can explore tidepools, enjoy stunning views of trains passing along the scenic tracks, or simply take in the beauty of the water and surrounding landscape. The network of trails through the forest is well-maintained, offering varying levels of difficulty for walkers, hikers, and runners. The Salmon Slide play area and the seasonal salmon runs in the creek add a unique educational element to the park. Carkeek Park is a must-visit for anyone seeking a peaceful escape into nature with the bonus of incredible train and track views!

Such a fun place, your kids will love the interactive play place. The history boards explaining the areas history. If you like nature walks and seeing wild life year round this is your place to check next. Beaver making their damns ducks wading in the pools, possible orca and seal sightings. This place even hosts the OLDEST orchard in Seattle history planted by some of the first European settlers. There is a fish integration system here as well as yearly salmon runs in Oct. Beach access and a bridge over the railroad so you can see the trains as they go under. Very amazing place. I definitely recommend a visit.

This park is a very special place. The main walking trail to the beach is well-maintained. The hiking trails have verdant, clear paths with generous inclines for a good workout. The beach is rocky and populated with lots of wildlife, and watching the trains pass is a idyllic joy.
