5 months agoFavorite gym in the Boston area. The setting is so unique and always fun. The staff are so friendly. Events are always on par. Wish they had towels and locks for lockers but other than that 10/10.

a year agoThe boulder sets were pretty good but not great, the mats were quite stiff and there weren’t a ton of down holds but overall it was a good experience

a year agoDid Cambridge/Boston need another climbing gym? Not really. But with their H square location, CRG finally filled a much needed niche of "convenient via the T" climbing in the area. Per usual, setting is creative, the space is beautiful (but packed during the afternoons). Yoga room and limited weights. Single showers - BYOT (towel). Glad they're here!

a year agoThe routes use very different skills, like crimps, foot balancing on a slab, dynamic moves, slopers, etc. This wide range of settings was really nice. The gym is very spacious and there are many routes with levels varying from VB to V10 (I didn't pay much attention to the high level though). The one negative that I felt was that even some V1s were super reachy. I have climbed in a few gyms and never had trouble with V1s or V2s. I felt like even easy grades were set for someone tall. The gym was very busy, but given the space and number of routes, I managed to climb quite a bit. Also, the entrance is very small and the gym is in the second floor. You need to be buzzed in. (see photo) I added a picture of the slab wall, which was a lot of fun.

7 months agoOne of the worst corporate gym experiences I've ever had. Half the facilities were broken (toilets, sinks, bathrooms). Climbing area was tiny, and there were no boards. There was the saddest weight area, with not even enough weights to do a workout on the one bar. There was no permanent pulley for hangboarding. They didn't even provide towels for their one shower. Can't believe they charge $34 for a day pass for this gym.
