Central Rock Gym

It’s a shame that climbing gyms in the central east coast don’t exist but it was a nice drive down to Miami to check out the gym and it did not disappoint. Even with a smaller complex, the setters do an impeccable job to create a variety of boulders. We had so much fun exploring these problems and you can tell how much effort is put into the sets. Major props to the two and their ideas combined! Hope to see the climbing community in Florida grow! High 5’s from IL to the staff at Central Rock Miami, thanks for adding to our fun florida visit!

TL;DR A fun new gym, community-like and with chill vibe, friendly and helpful staffs, wide variety of bouldering, available chalk and tripods, fun events, open to feedback/suggestions, free parking, and proximity to Wynwood fun. More rambling: This is the gym I go to nowadays when I visit Miami. When I spent the holidays in Miami a few months ago, I got a short-term membership and was able to keep up with my climbing progression (bonus: and I luckily made some new friends in this community-like and supportive environment). The staffs at CRG are quite friendly and are willing to help climbers through projects with beta/tips/support. They host helpful clinics so it’s a good idea to keep an eye on those on their website (or just ask the staffs). It would be amazing if CRG starts offering yoga classes to complement climbing (maybe it’s just not offered now but will be soon?). As a Severance fan, I was beyond happy when the gym hosted weekly watch party. How creative! There are a good variety of climbs set at different wall angles; it also has a tension board. Staffs are receptive to feedback/suggestions, so you can feel free to suggest setting partner climbs for Valentine’s Day and other ideas (and your wish might come true). Overall I enjoy climbing at CRG and hope whoever reads this will also have fun there! Allez!

Beautiful and spacious gym... if slightly sterile. Lots of difficult climbs available. Maybe a little cold culturally compared to some of the best small gyms. Still, there are plenty of nice folks around. It takes a lot to make this place seem anything more than almost empty.

Great bouldering gym. Lots of variation in wall angles . Clean, spacious and modern and they validate parking ! Good setting and accurate grading. They have a training area as well as treadmills. Also a tension board 2 They do have some hang boards but they could improve by adding a campus board to the left of the bathrooms. Also some of the holds haven't been cleaned in a long time.

I like this Climbing gym. I'm a V6-V7 climber. Very well thought out, parking sucks in Wynwood but they have a great system where they take care of your parking for 3hrs (FREE) which is enough for a good climbing sesh. They offer free chalk, tripods to record yourself and the gym has cool equipment to work on grip strength and endurance. Overall pretty good if you are focused on bouldering only.
