Chestatee Wildlife Preserve & Zoo

Great small, enchanted urban zoo preserve. . Chestatee is a wildlife preserve. They take rescue animals from pretty much anywhere. These people are wonderful. They don't receive any government help, neither local, state, or federal. They live and take care of these animals through personal donations, and the small fee they charge for the entrance to the zoo. So next time you're in the Dahlonega area, or nearby. Go check this place. You will enjoy it, and please. Be generous if you can. You'd be surprised by the unexpected animals you'd see there.

A must see! My kids loved all the animals here. Took us about two hours to do the whole thing but my kids played around with the horses for the last thirty mins. What's really neat is this is a rescue place so most of the animals brought here lost their parents in the wild.

Such a wonderful experience today with my daughter! We loved feeding all of the horses and zebras! The monkeys and sloth were our favorites! My daughter loved our sloth encounter. We will definitely be back! Extremely clean and wonderful staff!

Chestatee Wildlife Preserve & Zoo provides a unique experience with a multitude of species of exotic animals. From wolves, bears, and tigers; you will also find birds, reptiles, monkeys, camels, horses, and more. Great for all ages. Singles, couples, large groups welcome. Great little zoo for the kiddos! My grandson loved being able to feed the animals! What make it even better, 90% of the animals here are rescues!
