in the last weekI saw “Once Upon a Mattress” on April 27th and I can’t get over how incredible it was! The performers were between 8 and 14 years old, and they all had such amazing talent, like I would expect to see in a professional performance! Some of these kids are destined for Broadway. I love that the theater offers a variety of parts so that everyone could be included and each unique talent could be showcased. The CMT gave starring roles to several kids so everyone got a chance to shine. Their costumes were professional. The theater was clean and comfortable too! I look forward to a return visit!

a month agoMagic Creatures Musical Theatre Camp A Wonderful Experience!!!!! My daughter Kiki had the opportunity to participate in the Magic Creatures musical theatre camp during President's Week / 2025 and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience. It all began when her school sent out an email about a local theatre program offering a camp during the school break. I immediately reached out to CMT and received a prompt email from the educational manager, RYAN CHRISTOPER ( educational manager ) , the next day. Ryan was incredibly attentive during our phone conversation, sharing with me the history of the theatre company, which has been a staple in the community for many years. He also kindly invited us to visit the space in person to get a feel for the environment before committing. Upon arrival, we were impressed by the theatre's vibrant atmosphere. The hallways were beautifully decorated, and the multiple rooms had been thoughtfully designed, creating a warm and welcoming vibe. Kiki and I instantly loved the space. We were warmly greeted, and over the course of the week, the camp delivered an amazing experience. The children worked on three songs and were given roles for the final performance. The camp also had two themed days where the kids could dress up in costumes, adding to the excitement. On the last day, there was a final performance for family members, showcasing each child's role in the musical. The theme of the performance, Magic Creatures, was a delightful combination of singing, acting, and dancing, which made it truly magical. My daughter was so enthusiastic every day, returning home excited and practicing her songs and lines. One of the standout aspects of the camp was the incredible teamwork among the instructors. There were 5 to 7 instructors involved, specializing in different areas such as dance, acting, and vocal training. Their collaboration ensured that the entire camp was well-organized and that the children's skills were developed in a supportive environment. What truly stood out to me was Ryan's dedication to making sure we had a chance to experience the space before my daughter started the camp. This level of attention showed just how confident and passionate they are about their work. I also appreciated that the programme offered scholarships, allowing more children to experience the magic of theatre. A huge thank you to Ryan Christopher and my daughter ‘s counselor Mr. JAMES and ALL TEACHERS, everyone involved in the Magic Creatures camp. You created a wonderful, enriching experience for my daughter KIKI and we are grateful for the opportunity. I highly recommend this theatre program to anyone looking for a high-quality, fun, and engaging arts experience for their children!

2 months agoReview for CMT San Jose Winter Camp (Grade 1 Attended) The camp was overcrowded, with too many kids per staff member, making it difficult for younger children to get the attention they needed. The one-week timeline felt rushed, especially considering they had to prepare for a recital. Unfortunately, the recital itself was poorly prepared, likely due to the short timeframe and large class size. Grouping Grade 1-3 together didn’t seem ideal— a Kinder to Grade 1 class would have made much more sense in terms of skill level and experience. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and we won’t be considering it again for any camp program.
