a year agoKaren the owner of cct is a very kind woman who has our best interest in mind always she has to many credits to count! She has made me into a beautiful singer along with many of my friends. The new owner of Colorado children’s Theatre Isabella is the kindest person we know and is such a sweetheart. Colorado children’s has a special place in our hearts.

a year agoMy son has attended this school for his 4th production now. Not to mention the summer camps during the year. He has shown a drastic improvement in his voice with Isabella as the vocal coach. Her voice is spectacular and has given my son the ability to provide me with goose bumps every time he sings. Also it is a safe and professional environment. Thank you CCT you have given us the gift of music.

6 years agoColorado Children’s Theater is a horribly run business. They lack organization and professionalism. We attended for 2 years with no improvement in site. Karen lacks the ability to plan ahead like you would expect a business owner in this realm to do. One year she promised the Sound of Music to our children only to find out a few months into the children practicing that the royalties would not be granted and they had to change to a different production which was a production many of the children had participated in prior. This past year she underestimated the costs which included royalties and costume fees. This lack of planning resulted in her tacking on additional costs. These additional costs were never discussed with parents nor was there ever a mention that the fees may increase at any point. Costumes and royalties should be included in the overall cost not an “additional cost!” Communication is lacking and a mess. She failed to book the final performance location for dress rehearsal which resulted in parents running across town to multiple locations for dress rehearsals. On one of our dress rehearsal days she sent out three different emails with 3 different practice locations. As parents our time is precious. She also removed a planned performance date as punishment to the children because they did not know what they were doing. I believe this was a lack of professional direction and instruction. 10 hours of practice and multiple hours spent in class each week should have been plenty of class instruction had been organized and more professional. Overall, CCT is unable to adjust there expectations based on the children’s ages instead they are all expected to preform at the same caliper. This is not a realistic expectation. Our experience with CCT was a huge frustrating to myself and my child. We will never participate with Karen at CCT again.

2 years agoKaren (owner) is very disorganized. Dates for final performance not given until less than a month out which made it hard for out of town family/friends to plan ahead. Schedule constantly changed as performance date got closer and closer. Rehearsals would often run late and kids had rehearsals 4 nights for multiple weeks leading up to final performance.
