a month agoGreat front desk staff. Am a member at the Northern Lights YMCA in Iron Mountain Michigan and winter in AZ. Staff was very helpful with providing best options for a monthly membership at the Desert Foothills YMCA. The YMCA is a great place to meet friend and stay in shape in a healthy environment!

4 months agoGreat facility with a good variety of equipment and facilities. Staff is always very nice. I would give it a 5 star rating except for a few issues I have: 1. 90% of the members don’t wipe down equipment after use and staff doesn’t enforce it. It’s disgusting to use equipment that has somebody’s sweat on it and smells like nasty body odor. 🤢 🤮 2. Need to have HUGE signs with HUGE font every 5 feet on every wall and window stating to wipe down equipment after use. 3. Need to send out monthly reminder emails to members to remind them to wipe down equipment after use. 4. Need a huge sign at the lobby counter, behind the “ID scanner” that reminds people to wipe down equipment after use. 5. When YMCA staff and trainers are showing new members the equipment and during training sessions, the employee should ALWAYS wipe down equipment before and after the trainee/new member uses the equipment. Lead by example. If staff shows that it’s important to wipe down the equipment before, and after use, then the new members will get in the habit of doing it because it enforces good gym etiquette and courtesy. 6. Replace all the tiny “wipe down equipment” stickers on all equipment with larger signs/sticker that people can see and read without reading glasses. 7. Enforce proper footwear in the gym. Do not allow members to work out with improper footwear. I’ve seen high school kids wearing house slippers, socks only, crocs and sandals while lifting weights and using the equipment.

4 months agoAwesome facility with something for everyone including equipment, classes, swimming and even Pickleball play, which I attend regularly. The people at the front desk are great. Specifically, Wes is always helpful and looking out for the members. My wife swims and works out regularly and I love the Pickleball. We are so blessed to have such a great facility with awesome people running it so close to us. We highly recommend this YMCA!
