a year agoDiscover this hidden gem for nature enthusiasts! While it's a great spot for picnics, fishing, and scenic walks or bike rides along the river, it's worth noting that the park's safety can be a concern. Despite this, its serene atmosphere and picturesque views make it a worthwhile destination for those seeking outdoor adventure and tranquility.

2 years agoIt has been yrs since i visited this area. I'm a bit disappointed . It used to be open and could.walk around. But now that area is just blocked with outdoor tents. We literally have to go around over the grass or between the walls and tents to get to the other side. Just horrible. The other side, the view was very nice.

a year agoThe Fairmount Water Works Trail & Boardwalk is a scenic addition to Philadelphia’s outdoor spaces, offering a unique vantage point over the Schuylkill River. This boardwalk stretches over a previously inaccessible island between the historic Fairmount Water Works and Boathouse Row. It’s a perfect spot for cyclists and pedestrians on the Schuylkill River Trail (SRT) to pause and enjoy the views, with benches and landings that overlook the river and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The boardwalk is 380 feet long, while the accompanying paved trail is 520 feet long, providing ample space for visitors to explore and appreciate the natural and urban landscapes. The area is also a habitat for eight species of turtles, including the endangered red-bellied turtle, making it an important ecological site.
