Pat and Dennis were amazing and made us feel so welcomed. They got us ready to go kayaking in 5 minutes after arriving and picked us back up right after we called that we made it to the end. The kayaks have molded in seating so they are more comfortable than the seats that are only supported by straps. Couldn’t have asked for a better day to have gone because we saw so much wildlife: turtles, fish, blue herons, teals, wood ducks, and even a bald eagle. 10/10 recommend going with Foggy Bottom to kayak the Harpeth.

I really liked this place for the river path, the family owned aspect, and the overall atmosphere. That being said, I was provided a boat with a small leak that looked to have been previously repaired and assumed in working order. Thankfully the river was low so no real or immediate danger but the leaking boat was not ideal of course. I did tell the staff after managing getting down the river and stopping about every 1.5 miles to make it the full 5mile distance. (Photo of me emptying it along the way) I would advice to check your own rental before just assuming it's good to go, especially if the river is more full. I even saw other people in the river with holes in their boat as well so this isn't a one off issue it seems on checking the integrity of what is being rented out. Apart from the leaky boat this was a great experience and was still fun and I would come back and rent again. I would just check my kayak for any patches before starting the journey next time.

We had an awesome time on the river using foggy bottom. We caught about 25 fish all together and everything was great! Very professional business and will 100 % recommend using Foggy Bottom. Water was so nice, cold , and the scenery was amazing.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. They even accommodated me and my dog super late into the season a few years ago when there wasn’t anyone else on the water. Everyone here is always so friendly. Absolutely love renting from them. (Sometimes you might get a kayak with a hole or something - it happens at any rental place. Just let them know.)

Very efficient and friendly and they have very colorful kayaks so it's easy to find. Drop you off in one area and then you end a few minutes walk from where you parked. It gets crowded on the weekends so try to get their early or have a reservation.
