Gernon Brown Recreation Center

The staff there are so friendly and wonderful. The players (with the exception of several women and a few men) - not so much! I just moved to NOLA and I can say that I've had all positive, wonderful experiences minus playing pickleball Gernon Brown. At one point yesterday, they actually stopped putting their paddles in the stacks but instead just continued to play which omitted the less experienced. I changed racquets and put a different one in the one stack that was there and suddenly was up to play. One of the men asked me "Well whose racquet is that in your hand?" I said "Mine! I will continue to share my positive interactions about the people of New Orleans and how they spread warmness and joy so effortlessly upon each other and especially newcomers! The people definitely make this city a wonderful place to live. The pickleball players at Gernon Brown - they might be ok pickleball players but in the field of kindness . . . they could take some lessons.

FREE Pilates class here every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 9 AM and its Nicest staff there is. Kind and helpful and they really care about the people who come in I always recommend this place.

I love Gernon Brown Rec Center. I rent the space for private parties. It's a safe area. If something pop off it was from your guest only. The staff members that I dealt with are phenomenal! They go over and beyond. Shout out to the lady at the front desk, Mr Gerry, Ms Arie, and Mr Tyler. God bless

My daughter goes here for her Releve' dance lessons through NOBA- New Orleans Ballet Association. Very nice & spacious room to dance class and performances, in addition to large gym for other activities.

Great place to gather, eat and enjoy family . Played games....it's unfortunate that you knew and saw the flood line markings on the outside of the building. Could not even imagine the height of the flood waters...praying for all!!!! City is still recovering ❤️‍🩹
