a week agoThe tour guide’s name was Jesse. Very knowledgeable sweet guy. He took us out to the bay and it was a beautiful view. Lots of wildlife and fun conversations. Definitely a worthwhile trips We had an amazing time thank you Jesse.

8 months agoI went on a double date with another couple on this excursion to “Memorial Island”. Whilst it was quite rough (due to Storm Debbie) we still went out, convinced wholeheartedly by our experienced guide that everything would be okay. The trip began with us choosing our Kayaks. I HIGHLY recommend the green kayaks - unless you want your excursion to end in prematurely after 42 minutes with a soggy bottom (though of course, some would argue 42 minutes is long enough, but I digress). The Memorial Island was a beautiful haven, sheltered from the wind. As we drank out memosas we gave a toast to those who did not survive the journey. They will be missed and forever in our hearts 😌. One should be wary however of the environment on Memorial Island. The territory can be quite dangerous. From pesky hermit crabs, to the numerous broken bottles that littered the beach - one should bring protection! Unfortunately my half decided not to use protection. Usually I would be the one to ‘pull out’ of this tricky situation but unfortunately I was too enamoured by the guide’s frenzied voice as he radioed for help. Thankfully the other patrons managed to console her. Overall I would highly recommend this excursion if you’re a big fan of the deadliest catch or if you ever wanted to role-play a plane crash on water.

8 months agoThis tour should have been a beautiful adventure and I think on a different day with the proper set up would have been fantastic. We completed the daytime clear bottom kayak tour to monument island. We had one tour guide between 13 people, and he was friendly and competent, but set up for failure in that he should have had a second guide with him for a group as big as ours. There was no formal acknowledgement of safety measures to take in the busy bay and the majority of the group were not given life vests (including us). This company had two styles of clear bottom kayak, and the one that we were in was prone to filling up with water which is exactly what it did. Our kayak sank in the middle of the Miami Bay, leaving us and our belongings treading water without a life vest until the guide paddled all the way back to us. He was appropriate and cool-headed given the chaotic situation and I wish we had seen him again after we were rescued to be able to thank him for that. Unfortunately of the two life vests he gave us, one didn’t have clips and couldn’t be secured. As our guide was alone, this meant those who had made it to the island were alone, as was the remaining pair who were still paddling behind us while he was helping us. The guide was unable to tow two adults by himself in the choppy waters to the island, and it was too far to comfortably swim against the tide/choppy waters but luckily a passerby in a boat was able to rescue us and the sunken kayak and take us to the edge of the bay where we climbed out onto the road and pulled the kayak out. The guide then returned to the others on the island and we had to walk back to our hotel soaking wet. The company’s response was disappointing, in that they contacted me to find out the location we left the rescued kayak but were not concerned for our wellbeing, and gave us a half refund because “we made it halfway to the island” Of the three boats that made it to the island (two other boats behind us turned around and took themselves back) all of them contained a significant amount of water, and two almost sank. Those that didn’t sink were a different style of kayak. (Ours was completely clear and theirs was mostly green) If you take a tour with this company please go on a clear day, and only ride in the green/blue kayaks. Please make sure they give you a life vest before you set off. I will attach a photo of our kayak which sank. This is the style to avoid.

a year agoThis was a new & very fun experience. Especially since, it was my first time on a Kayak. It only fits two. So it's perfect for a late night, date night activity. The instructor was very cool & laid back. Then the champagne & snacks, was a added bonus to the fun. Street parking, at the location as well. May get slightly wet, doing this activity.

4 years agoAn excellent environment and staff! The kayak rides are unlike anything I've seen before, and at night time when they use the LEDs and serve champagne it is definitely an experience like no other. A MUST SEE if you're visiting or local to the area!!
