6 months agoGrave digger Dave really injects a lot of energy into this tour, you can tell he loves his job and makes this a very fun few hours. A lot of Stories felt made up though— I was hoping for dark history of SD, and ended up hearing some of that, but also about bubonic plague and random things. Feedback for tour operators— i think this would benefit from adding a third stop on the trolley… it feels like you are making the effort to drive somewhere but you arrive to an elementary school, and then back on the bus and return where you started, a third location in like a triangle route (even if it’s quick) would make more use of the fact that you have a bus here and not just a walking tour of old town.

2 weeks agoI really loved this tour! I am a San Diego native and have been to Old Town lots of times but some friends invited me to go on this tour. The best part by far was the tour guide Tecolote they had such an amazing energy and remained in character the entire time. It was so fun to hear about the history and the interesting characters from the past. Tecolote kept my attention the whole time (even as a local with extensive history knowledge I learned a lot). Mostly it was just plain fun! It was so nice to just hop on the trolley and be transported through history and realms! I want to make it a Halloween time tradition.

a year agoMy daughter wanted to go on this tour, so we indulged her request. I must say, I enjoyed this low effort (in my planning) experience as we didn't know about this tour until we arrived. I had more fun rather than being scared, and the history was quite fascinating. I was more concerned about my youngest child, who would run away from a fly, but she also enjoyed her experience. I think they have a midnight or overnight experience, which will be next.

2 years agoI went with my brother, his wife, and kids- we all loved it. I have lived in San Diego a while and didn’t know much of the history. Our tour guide was in character and shared factual and heavily researched stories about places and people in old town plus her own personal experiences - hopefully you’re lucky to get someone as fabulous as Miss Mary Chase Walker to teach you a hauntingly fascinating lesson!

2 years agoPurchased tickets online in June for July 14th evening at 7pm. Irene "Amy" Strong was our Ghost Host. She was amazing in character, told great stories, and provided amazing commentary as we traveled along the route. Very interesting to know how the city decided to do certain things in regards to cemeteries and final resting places back in the 1930's! Would definitely recommend this tour to visitors who are interested in history!
