2 weeks agoThe swim teachers are fantastic and the staff is so friendly. This has really become a true community resource, and it makes people feel welcome and safe. Highly recommend!

a month agoI like this YMCA, even though the layout for the fitness area is a little tight. Has all of the basics covered with your strength training machines. Some of the rubber coated plates are really difficult to get off the plate organizer and onto the machines/barbells. I forgot what brand; it's the ones in between the leg press/seated calf raise. Every time I go here, I'd rather walk over to the squat rack/deadlift platforms and take some bumper plates for what I want to do. I'm always worried that I might hurt myself being hunched over and wiggling a 45lb plate off a post multiple times. Regardless, the place is always clean and the staff is nice, and there's a sauna. For me, that's really important. I have to drive a little farther to get to this Y than the two I mainly go to, but I never regret it when I come to this one.

5 months agoI love the staff, always welcomed with a smile. The E-gym is great. I also enjoy the cardio equipment, indoor track, aerobic classes and sauna. It's a great place for seniors as they often have groups meeting for Bingo and Price is Right. Pickle Ball and Ping Pong are also played here. Nice computer lab. Noticed they had a Scholastic book fair going on. Great preschool, lots of sports programs for kids and teens.

5 months agoI love this particular Y out of all of them! They are truly a “family” away from home. There is always something going on for the young adults, children, and older adults. The other day I was working out and I observed thee most generous and compassionate act of kindness from a couple of members of the Training Team and an employee towards an adult thriving/ living with what appeared to be a developmental delay (I’m not clinical staff nor apart of this person’s care team - only stating what appeared to be a developmental delay of some sort) the gentleman was in the “free weight” area and it appeared he may have been using the equipment in correctly. 2 - Y Trainers and 1 employee, gently approached the gentleman and assisted him with resetting the weights he was using, a demonstration with a similar apparatus, and demonstrated a safer way to use it. He was not asked to leave, there was no “scene” in the area or he was not told he was doing it incorrectly, he was treated like everyone else in the gym. Equal. Appreciated. Respected. And our beat goes on. Thank Y - Ransburg, for this glimmer of hope.

3 months agoJanuary 2025 - As a parent of almost 3 in a few short weeks, and a long standing member of the Ransburg YMCA, it was without question to explore their early learning center as an option for my two early learners (almost 4 years old and 2 years old). Since we are active in so many of the programs currently offered at the YMCA for our children, we found it to be a smooth transition to get them started in the Early Learning Center as well to optimize their learning and development. The teachers are friendly and great with the kids. Their passion and love for teaching is apparent with their consistent presence, dedication to each child, and their engagement in activities with the children. The communications, photos of all the fun they have, and positive attitudes really make a mama feel safe in trusting one's babies with someone else each day. The Early Learning Program is truly a blessing. The kids have fun socializing and playing with peers, learning classroom expectations, learning and developing to be school ready, and having all the fun doing it. :) Definitely recommend!!!!! Sincerely, Mama, Makinwa! November 2024 - Our daughter Genevieve has been in the swimming program now for approximately 4-5 months and is loving it! We have increased her sessions from 1x/week to 2x/week to build and retain her skills and keep her active during the winter months in hope of better preparing her for summer. The staff and instructors are very great with the children, engaging in play while instilling instruction and encouragement. It's a great balance. With our daughter being 3.5, "playing" in the water is a focus for her, but between prep talks prior to class and the instructors gentle reminders and built in opportunities for fun, she is able to focus and learn. She has advanced quite quickly and exhibits motivation and pride in her accomplishments with statements like "Mommy, I treaded water all by myself!". The Ransburg YMCA is honestly the best! We are exploring more opportunities in the coming new year because we are just so happy and pleased with the staff, engagement, communication, professionalism, fun, friendly, and kind environment. Sincerely, Mama, Makinwa!
