a week agoFloors 1 & 2 are okay hands-on for children. I took my grandson 3 yrs old, and it was okay for him he had more fun running around playing on the exercise machines they had their I would say it would be better for ages 8 through teenagers the third floor was more reading and it was under construction when we went April 2025. The cost to get in is $6 I would have thought it would have been a free one

3 weeks agoWe visited here a few months back and it was okay. It's a small science museum. You do pay $6 to get in. There isn't a ton to do. I would say a lot of the stuff is for older children. My son liked the running station the best. It's not terrible, but I would not drive out of my way to go here. It's fine if you're in the area and have some time to kill. They do lots of community events there.

3 months agoThis is a great museum for kids. I took my 15 yo for snake dissection class and he said "it was cool". ( That's a huge deal, way to go y'all) While he was in dissection I was able to keep my 5yo ASD child occupied with other exhibits. I was surprised to learn my 5 yo could identify animals based on their cry alone. We had our packed lunches and an opportunity to explore downtown to finish our trip. Fun day for all. Looking forward to more dissections since teen was interested. 👍

2 years agoThis place is perfect for kids and kid at heart. The ticket is not that expensive and you’ll enjoy 3floors i think if Im not mistaken with different things to see and discover. I love the animal section wherein they have diff kinds of reptiles, turtles, snakes etc. They also have North Carolina’s history and how was it discovered its a good information knowing NC. A definitely must try for kids they’ll surely enjoy!

2 years agoI have so many thoughts after leaving this place….. So we stopped here randomly after visiting Its a Zoo Life (highly recommend!). I was happy to see a kids museum within a close distance, but a bit worried because we only had 1.5 hours to get thru it. That wouldn’t end up being an issue at all. It was Saturday at 330 when we got there, and there was one other family there. The first floor is the “interactive” section. It was extremely dark, which was super weird. Like they had several overhead lights but only a handful of them were turned on in the whole downstairs space. There was one spot where you could upcycle garbage into creations, a hanging globe, several workout equipment pieces (many if which didn’t work), a virtual reality station (that you had to be 7 years old to try, and a small side room with flat wood blocks. The bee exhibit was not there. And that was it. The second floor was even weirder! There were maybe 15 reptiles in a weird circle. Their cages were a sad site. They have a massive snake inside a small cage with only a bowl of water. Their bearded dragon basically the same length of the cage it was in. Then. There looked to be a room with birds, but there was a sign that said not to go in this area. There were also several hallways and locked doors that led to nothing. It was like half the space was used for the museum and half wasn’t. So onto the third floor…and it just gets weirder the higher we go. It’s the history section….but it’s basically empty. There’s a bench, a fake fire, a tv, a fake tree, and some pictures on the wall. Also several hallways and doors that are not actually part of the museum. In summary….Not what I expect from a children's museum at all! Not worth the money. Very dark and eery overall. It was like someone bought a beautiful building and didn’t know what to do with half of it…so they threw in some exercise equipment and some lizards and called it a museum. Bananas.
