We attended Open Play for ages 3-13 with my three- and seven-year-old kids. Fun for kids, nerve-wracking for their parents. They do not allow parents on the gym floor but only have 2 staff (they said there was a third but I never saw them) supervising a massive area which includes advanced gymnastics equipment. Their website says there is plenty of supervision for Open Play / Parent's Night Out; I fail to see how 50+ pre-teens to 2 adults qualifies as adequate. Meanwhile, their "parent corral" balcony does not provide line of sight to much of the premises, including kids being able to wander out of the gym area. About a dozen parents, myself included, chose to ignore their no-parent policy in favor of keeping our kids safe and supervised. This resulted in me having two arguments with two different staff members; they eventually capitulated and allowed parents on the gym floor "for this time only" since we had already paid, the kids were excited, and they did not want to refund me. We will not go back now that we know how inadequate their staffing actually is alongside a nonsensical no-parent policy. Edit (responding to their response) 3/13/2025 - They refunded my card. It was charged, and then after I posted reviews they returned my payment. Saying "your card was never charged" is a lie. Additionally, the crux of my issue is that they advertise "adequate" supervision for children 3-13. Two employees charged with keeping 50+ kids safe is NOT adequate.

Very friendly staff! We were enrolled in summer classes for our 3 and 5 year old boys, same class time but different classes. They expertly guided our kiddos through learning lots of new skills and made sure to use the class time wisely despite the census, we plan to try out some summer camps too and have only dealt with friendly faces and great customer service! We had paid tuition on accident as we entered into school starting in September and we were able to convert it to open play sessions, which we still enjoy regularly!! Great punch card option as well. My kiddos love it here!

We were there for someone’s 5-year old birthday party and there was literally zero oversight and parents basically managed the places where kids were more likely to get hurt. It just didn’t feel safe for younger kids. There were some really young kids — high-school age maybe — that just stood there and looked at older kids running over the younger ones. Adding after the "owner's" response: instead of your excuses or suggesting that parents complain about the staff, how about you run the comments through chatGPT, identify a recurring theme and actually fix it? If you read the reviews, year over year parents are complaining about the same things over and over again.

I went here a few years ago and I loved it there! The gym is great, the coaches were so nice, I got taught lots, and I miss doing classes there, even though I was only 6, I loved it there so much and I hope that even though I’m 12 I can start again!

Update 8/2/2023- spoke to someone at emerald city, they apologized for what happened and thanked me for letting them know about the incident so that they can better prepare next time. The person I spoke to mentioned that area SHOULD have been covered during open play. (Original) - I've been here twice. The second time we had an incident with one of our children. I'm posting this so that your supervising staff can better prepare next time or cover the area during open play where the incident occurred. My husband and I , along with other parents, were sitting on the top area (bleachers). We took both our kids this day for weekend open play (7/15). We could see most of the play area. At one point we could no longer locate our 4.5 year old. So we yelled at our 6 y.o. to see if he could see/find his brother. Our 6 y.o. starts crying and pointing to an area close by the rope swing/foam pit, so immediately we knew our kid had to be in there - stuck. No time to waste and my husband ran downstairs into the play area towards the area our other child pointed to. Husband located our child in an area that was about 6 feet deep (not exactly sure on depth but my husband struggled to get out himself after pulling our child out). The area was empty but deep. Not sure how our son got in there. Not sure if he jumped or fell. But he was scared and panicked that he couldn't get out. One of your supervising staff (teen) apologized and said she didn't see him go in there. Again, I'm just writing this so that you guys can do better next time being that it was during a scheduled time that parents aren't allowed on the floor.
