8 months agoThis is a gorgeous area! There are so many wonderful things to see here. The fountain, the gondolas (we heard one gondolier singing) and swan boats, art all around, ducks and geese, a steam-powered clock (almost said giraffe, which is something completely different, but would be awesome to see here, too, lol), memorials, museums, restaurants. We're so happy to have gotten to visit and experience it on such a perfect day!

4 months agoWhile visiting the Motor Speedway Museum in Indianapolis, we also stopped downtown to explore the Canal Walk, and it was fantastic. The peaceful, car-free pathways reminded me of European town centers, offering a serene atmosphere perfect for strolling. We visited in the fall but wished we could have been there in the summer to bring paddleboards and enjoy the waterway instead. The area around the canal is filled with attractions that are easily accessible, including the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, the Indiana State Museum, and the Indianapolis Zoo. However, one inconvenience was that all the public restrooms were closed, which was disappointing. Despite this, the experience was enjoyable and worth visiting!

8 months agoBeautiful 911 memorial at the Ohio street entrance (Slightly East of West Street next to the fire station) of the canal. I didn't have time to walk the canal but read for a short time on a bench near the memorial. Great place to sit, enjoy nature, or eat lunch. It was very peaceful there with a fountain in the canal. You can rent paddle boats there too. Never Forget!🙏🇺🇲

4 months agoThis place is very calm and neat. Great to go walking silently and focus. Amazing ducks or Canadian Geese I should say.

9 months agoQuiet park walk with lots of adorable ducks and geese. They've added little planks so the baby ducks can get out of the water 🤎. There's easy access to the museums at one end, a kids' playground near the other end. Elevator access in the middle. We rented a swan paddle boat. It's an hour round trip and definitely takes 2 to paddle!
