James River Park System Pony Pasture Trail

Amazing view and nice walking trail next to the rapids. With public restrooms and dog-friendly.

This place used to be so nice to go for a calm visit or to sit and relax. Nowadays you have to watch where you're walking on the trails not only for roots but because people are digging up rocks now and putting them where they want. Now there are some big holes you can step in and twist an ankle or break a foot. The lack of trash cans has created a bad litter problem as well. It's a shame it used to be so nice.

Very beautiful area to stop and walk a trail. I didn't even know about this park. So glad we stumbled upon it.

Well maintained trails. Dog friendly. Nice views of the river. Great place to watch birds. Restrooms available. Large parking lot Connects to Wetlands park.

Peaceful, enjoyed watching kids floating downtown in their helmets and life vests, and the kid who was kayaking upside-down..he made it work. Just kicked and did his own thing. It was actually awesome to watch
