a week agoWe had the best Earth Day ever! We did the kayak rentals and backhaul service. Barry was our wonderful guide and suggested we start at Petroglyph beach and it was great advice. It took us about 5.5 hours to kayak back to Lee’s Ferry starting point. We went and saw the petroglyphs, stopped at the bend in the river under Horse Shoe Bend look out (above), stopped at a beach for a picnic lunch and also did the slot canyon to Water Hole Canyon. The kayaks were comfortable and had plenty of room for our supplies. My husband is 6.1 and 220lbs so I rented him the XL but he would have been fine in the regular size one as well. Both the regular size and the XL were very stable and easy to manoeuvre on the river. The weather was absolutely fantastic and the whole adventure was one I will never forget! Thanks so much for a wonderful day.

2 weeks agoWe got the back haul service and rented kayaks for a family get away. The boat guide was informative, safety was thorough, our kayaks were ready and we left on time. Our guide Clay, was very nice and had a few stories/ history, to tell, on our boat ride up the river. This is my second time, and it's so worth it!!

a month agoWe chose to start at the Glen Canyon dam which takes 6 to 8 hours on average but we did it in about 5 and a half hours. It was 15 miles. We really enjoyed it and was really peaceful and quiet up until horseshoe bend where there was a lot of people and it was really pretty. The backhaul crew that took us up river was really nice and showed us cool places to stop and things to see in the canyon. They even got my sons hat when it blew of his head and dried it for him. The echoes in the canyon are really loud and if you yell at horseshoe bend the people on top of the canyon will yell back out you and it echoes realy loudly. Surprisingly we did not get sore at all after the trip. Would defiently recommend this and it is worth all the time.

3 weeks agoIf youre going to visit Horseshoe Bend, this is the way to do it. Every staff member i spoke with was extremely helpful. I was able to make changes close to my reservation without any issues. Our captain, Caleb, was very friendly and knowledgeable. The XL kayaks were able to hold all of our camping gear and were easy to handle. If you're going to camp, take the earliest backhaul available, as the campsites are first come, first serve.
