2 months agoAs part of their compensation, therapists are required to convince children that they are lying in order to love their abusers. It is heartbreaking when children are manipulated into loving or defending an abuser, often as a result of emotional coercion or manipulation. This dynamic can create an environment where the abuser is empowered, and the children are caught in a cycle of confusion and distress. Such situations are damaging, and it’s critical for support systems, such as therapy and legal interventions, to help break these harmful patterns and protect the well-being of the children involved

3 years agoI was in Albert’s class and I would rate my experience 5 out of 5. The people in the class came from different backgrounds, have different approaches and communication styles. Because Albert's authenticity was transparent, he was able to make the class successful. He was also patient and respectful but at the same time kept conversations moving and aligned to the course topics and priorities. I felt he did an excellent job allowing people to provide their own perspective and insight, which created opportunity for people in the class (me included) to grow. I appreciated Cindy reaching out via chat to provide explanation, empathy, and support at times. Realizing she is doing this for all the participants makes me think that a big reason that the class is successful is that she is actively working behind the scenes to improve participant engagement and participant growth. I think every parent in my class took away insight tools and tips that they can do to improve their children’s lives. I would say If you go into it closed minded, angry and placing 100% blame on the other parent, you are less likely to get a positive outcome.

3 years agoI’ll admit I was a little hesitant about taking this coparenting class I wasn’t sure what to expect. After completing this workshop I only have positive things to say. My group leaders were great very professional, respectful and understanding. I’ve learned communication skills and strategies on how to best help my daughter and to listen to her and understand her emotions. What I learned in this program will be beneficial for our future my ways of thinking have changed. Thank you Kids Turn SD

4 years agoSince "our" daughter's mother and I are restrained & communication is only through Talking Parents the co-parenting portion did not apply much. That said, learning to give my daughter my undivided attention, give affirmations & help her to work through her problems herself are the things I took away from this course. Our group leader, Sue, was fantastic and Chris....either owner or manager...expedited my completion certificate so I could increase my Custody faster. Highly recommended!

3 years agoI am so appreciative towards all of the staff at Kids'Turn San Diego that were able to help my family during this challenging and difficult time. Everyone was so knowledgeable, friendly, kind, compassionate and caring and really made me feel like I wasn't alone in this situation. They were able to teach me an array of new tools, skills and tequniques during my Family Workshop. I learned mulltiple different skills when it comes to our child/children and my co-parent. Then, I was able to utilize and practice those amazing skills and tools while sharing them with the other Parents in the Family Workshop. Everyone was very supportive of each other and all of the staff made this a memorable and very effective resource. I can't thank everyone enough, I have found a multitude of new ways to progress and move forward and it is only going to improve my situation. I recommend the Kids'Turn San Diego Family Workshop to anyone and everyone that is able to participate, it will help. Thanks again guys, I have a better relationship with my family and it is because of all of the staff at Kids' First San Diego! A great big thank you to Sue, Cindy Vicki and Kelly, you guys are the best!! All of you guys are amazing! Keep up the great work.😃 Signed, Happy Graduate 👩🎓
