Laurelhurst Theater

One of the best neighborhood theaters in NE Portland. Not as iconic at the Hollywood Theater, but has arguably the coolest Art Deco neon signs of any theater in the Northwest. Always has an eclectic mix of first-run movies showing, and a really great selection of brews and food.

My favorite theater in Portland and in the country, it’s truly a gem. Try a local slice of pizza and beer and enjoy the magic.

Comfortable seating and helpful to the environment with not using straws or paper cups for drinks. I enjoyed my brief time there inmensely.

Honestly really love this place but the Ticket Czar wouldn’t let me into a movie with a group of 7 other adults ages 28-32 because I forgot my ID. I’m 29 next month, have obvious fine line wrinkles, and had high res pics of both my license and my passport on my phone, which I had preemptively pulled up to show him. Honestly felt like the guy was just on one and wanted to ruin someone else’s day. Sorry dude, but you’re not going to lose your license over a 28 YO not even drinking. Also…they let kids in…?? I’ve shown a pic of my photo ID in the past with no problem, so the lack of discretion in a situation that very obviously posed zero risk is just a bit frustrating as a long time customer. So, don’t forget your ID I guess.

This is my neighborhood theater and I couldn’t be happier. Wonderful curation of indies and popular movies as well as second runs. The beverages are on point as well as the popcorn and pizza. So blessed to have them nearby. It’s amazing that I can still have a great night at the movies for $20.
