a year agoUpdate: The Lavner COO reached out after the camp ended to discuss my son's experience. He was apologetic and truly regretted the poor experience. He was receptive to the feedback, and will work on addressing the issues that arose and to have better contingency plans for future camps. I'm chagrinned that the regional directors didn't reach out during my son's camp despite both me and my husband contacting them via email and phone, but I appreciate the COO contacting us to discuss the situation and listen. I've amended the review from 1 to 3 stars to reflect a satisfactory response after the end of camp, but it still doesn't change my son's disappointing experience my the camp. Original: Beware of false advertising and lack of contingency planning. Our 11 yo son and his cousin attended 3D printing camp in Baltimore. There was only ONE 3D printer and it was BROKEN for 3 out of 4 days attended (week of Juneteenth). That's like going to sailing camp and having one inoperable sailboat. Lavner staff should have made a trip to Microcenter or Best Buy for another 3D printer on DAY 1, but instead the situation was allowed to linger. Emails and phone calls to regional director went unanswered. A second functional 3D printer was not obtained until the final day of camp, and my son could only print a single design. There were other concerns he raised, but the camp experience didn't even match Lavner's advertised description. In my son's words: "kind of a waste of of time."
