About Leap Years

Leap Years is a pristine, thoughtfully designed indoor play space specifically catering to young families with children primarily under 5 years old. Its unique value lies in combining engaging, varied play stations (pretend, STEM, physical) with exceptional parent amenities like a comfortable lounge, healthy food options, and a strict reservation system that guarantees a safe, uncrowded, and impeccably clean environment. It provides a rare solution for parents seeking a high-quality, stress-free outing for multiple young children, including infants.

What parents should know

Summarized from real visitor reviews.

Best for: Families with children under 5 years old, especially those with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.Parents seeking a consistently clean, safe, and uncrowded environment for their young children to explore and play.Families looking for a venue that offers healthy food and drink options, alongside comfortable amenities for adults (coffee, Wi-Fi, relaxation space).Parents who need a play space where a baby can safely play while an older sibling (up to 5) can actively expend energy.Parents in the 'Boise valley' looking for a unique, high-quality indoor play experience that goes beyond standard offerings.

Why families love it

  • Exceptional cleanliness and a well-maintained facility, described as free from the 'filth and hassle' of many other activities.
  • A dedicated and comfortable parent lounge/relaxation space that allows for enjoyable supervision outside of the main play area.
  • An effective reservation system that prevents overcrowding by limiting the number of children, ensuring a more pleasant experience.
  • Provides safe play opportunities specifically for babies (under 1) while also offering engaging activities for older preschoolers (up to 5).
  • Offers high-quality, healthy snack and drink options, including coffee for adults, and provides water to fill bottles, avoiding typical 'junk' food offerings.
  • **Diverse Play Zones:** Includes pretend play stations (vet, fruit stand, fire engine, supermarket), STEM stations (giant Lite-Brite, peg board), and active play structures (crawling/climbing, huge ball pit, air-powered ball tubes, slide, light sticks).

Insider tips

  • **Book in advance:** It's advisable to utilize the reservation system to secure your spot, especially given the limited capacity and popularity, which ensures a never-overcrowded experience.
  • **Manage size expectations:** While 'enough space,' be aware that it might appear larger on the website; the actual space is described as cozy but sufficient for the target age group.
  • **Ideal for mixed age groups:** This venue is particularly well-suited for families with both babies/toddlers and preschoolers (up to 5), as it effectively caters to different developmental stages.

Good to know before you go

  • Families with older children (e.g., school-aged 6+) as the play areas and activities are specifically designed for kids primarily under 5, and older children might find it less engaging.
  • Attempting to drop-in without a reservation, as the system limits attendance to prevent overcrowding, implying that walk-ins may be turned away during busy times.
  • One reviewer noted the space 'looks bigger on the website' but immediately qualified that it's 'enough space' in reality, suggesting a minor expectation mismatch rather than a significant issue.

No hidden costs are mentioned.
Food
Offers quality, healthy snack and drink options, and coffee for adults.

"Such an amazing facility for young families. There’s nothing else like it in the valley, and it genuinely gives young kids such an awesome environment to get out and explore without the filth and hassle of many other activities. The parent lounge is comfortable and enjoyable while allowing supervision outside of the play area. All the snack and drink options are quality and not junk. I love the design of the space, and how clean they keep it. Definitely a hit for our family!"

"It’s tough to find a play space where I can set my baby down safely to play while my oldest (age 5) gets some energy out. Leap Years has designed a play place that exceeded our expectations and takes care of the small details that matter to us parents. The owners have thought of everything from providing water to fill bottles to healthy snack options (and even coffee for adults). We are grateful for a new space to enjoy here in the valley."
