Insider tips

  • If attending an open lab session, be prepared to actively guide your children through experiments using the provided book, especially if you are the sole adult with multiple kids.
  • For a more structured, staff-led, and comprehensive experience, particularly for groups or special occasions with a wide age range, booking a birthday party is highly recommended.
  • The venue is 'tucked away behind LA Fitness and Escape It Houston', which can be helpful for navigation.

Good to know before you go

  • Open lab sessions if you are a single parent with multiple young children and primarily expect staff to provide direct, hands-on guidance for each experiment rather than a self-guided experience.
  • Open lab sessions are largely self-guided, with participants given 'a big book of experiments' and told they are 'on your own'
  • Can be 'a little crazy' for 'one parent with multiple kids' during open lab, making it difficult to keep them 'entertained and on track' without dedicated staff guidance

"So much fun! Everyone in our family had a blast here. The best part is that they have experiments for a wide range of ages. It was not crowded when we went but even when it got busier the place is HUGE so plenty of room for everyone."

"We came here for open lab and it was really fun, but a little difficult trying to utilize the time well as you’re basically given a big book of experiments and told that you’re on your own (at least this was my experience). With multiple kids and only one parent it gets a little crazy trying to keep them all entertained and on track. However, my kids still enjoyed it so much I decided to have the little one’s birthday here and that was a blast!! The party host was great and ran the kids through about 5 different experiments and the kids got to take home the slime and “snow” they made."

"We did a birthday party with the age range of 3 to 13. All ages including the parents enjoyed everything. Ms V was the best host and she let the kids be kids during and even after the party. I recommend this spot for even just an outing for the kids to learn about science and enjoy it. They were able to make slime and did a soda explosion for the kids to see. There is also frog dissection for the older kids and a few other projects they can do."
