💡Pro Tips from Reviews
- →**Avoid Crowds**: Arrive when the park first opens or before lunch (e.g., before 1 PM) for a less crowded experience.
- →**Prepare for Stairs**: Be prepared for significant stair climbing to reach the main slides.
- →**Observer Seating**: If not sliding, the Toddler Area offers the best seating and shade for observers.
- →**Potential Discount**: Consider visiting an hour before closing for a potential discount on the entry fee.
- →**Save on Tickets**: If only children are sliding, parents can save money by not purchasing a ticket for themselves.
- →**Holden Beach Activity**: A recommended activity for families visiting the Holden Beach area.
Things to Consider
- ⚠Guests must climb a 'significant amount of stairs' to access the main slides, which can be tiring.
- ⚠The facility is 'not anything fancy' and offers a limited number of slides (3 for most kids, 1 for 2 and under).
- ⚠Limited shade coverage for non-sliders or onlookers outside of the dedicated Toddler Area.
- ⚠Can become crowded, particularly by early afternoon (e.g., around 1 PM).
- ⚠Some guests perceive the $20 per person for 90 minutes as 'a bit pricey' despite its comparative value.
Price & Value
The cost is $20 per person for a 90-minute session. Reviewers generally consider this 'plenty of time' and good value for 'wearing out kids without paying water park prices', although some find it 'a bit pricey'. A key value point is that you 'only pay to slide', meaning non-participating parents do not need a ticket. There's a potential for discounts if arriving close to closing time, and occasionally special bonuses like free soft-serve ice cream have been offered.
♿Accessibility & Special Needs
- •The main slides require climbing a 'significant amount of stairs', which may limit access for individuals with mobility challenges.
🍎Food & Drink Policy
- •Free soft-serve ice cream was given out to celebrate an anniversary (likely a temporary special offer).
- •No other specific policies regarding outside food or drinks were mentioned in the reviews.
🚗Parking Info
- •No specific details regarding parking availability or cost were mentioned in the reviews.
👥Crowd Levels
- •**Less Busy**: If you can go when they first open.
- •**Gets Crowded**: Around 1 PM, so arriving before lunch is recommended.
🛡️Safety Features
- •No explicit safety features (e.g., dedicated lifeguards, first aid stations, security measures) were specifically mentioned in the reviews. The presence of 'great' and 'sweet' ladies working implies general staff supervision.
⏰When to Avoid
- • If you are expecting a modern, large, 'fancy' water park with numerous slides and extensive amenities.
- • If members of your group have mobility issues that would make climbing a significant number of stairs difficult.
- • Visiting in the early afternoon (e.g., after 1 PM) if you want to avoid peak crowd levels.
- • If you or your group requires extensive shaded seating or lounging areas for non-sliders, as these are limited.

a year agoWe visit every year when we come to Holden. My kids love this place. It's definitely not anything fancy and they are going to be tired after walking up the stairs to get to the slides, but they will be happy! They charge $20 for 90 minutes and that was plenty of time for my kids. Bonus this year they were giving out free soft serve ice cream to everyone to celebrate 41 years of being in business and the ladies working inside are great! In our experience it is less busy if you can go when they first open.

2 years agoFun thing to do with the kids while in Holden Beach. Only 3 slides for most kids and 1 for 2 and under. Still fun for an hour or so. Wouldn’t imagine spending much more time than that. Small shade area for onlookers.

2 years agoFamily Friendy, great for all ages! Our teens/adults loved sliding as much as our kids! There is a waterslide for everyone! Even the Grandparents enjoyed sitting in Toddler Area and watching the grandkids slide! ☆Toddler/PreK waterslide features a kiddie pool. ☆You do have to climb a significant amount of stairs to get to slides ☆We purchased the 1.5hr tickets ($20 each) and it was plenty of time ☆ BE prepared, if you have some in your group that arent doing the slides there is not a lot of shade coverage. Our group liked the seating in Toddler Area best, since we had all ages sliding. I'd recommend coming before lunch. We left around 1pm, and it was getting crowded! A place of Nostalgia! We grew up going to Holden and it was fun to share these memories with our kids.

2 years agoCool slides. A bit pricey ($20 per person for 90 minutes), but you only pay to slide (so if you are a parent, you can just pay for the kids if you don't want to slide).

9 months agoAwesome little place to wear out your kids without paying water park prices. Open Monday- Saturday. The workers were all very sweet. The woman working gave us a discount because we came an hour before close and wouldn't be able to do the full 90 minutes (which is $20 per person). Family friendly, small town vibes for sure. Will definitely come back.
