a month agoWonderful, inexpensive, day trip. Beautiful botanic gardens inside lovely architecture. Definitely a great date day or family day, it takes less than 2 hours to see everything but you could easily spend more time. They also hold events so check their website. Each of the 3 domes holds a different ecosystem: desert, tropical and floral (show). I also loved that they had miniature trains running through the show dome with little towns set up.

2 weeks agoCheck the schedule before you go! Like any good garden, the Mitchell Park Domes are always evolving-and that means occasional closures. One entire dome was closed during our visit, but we went in without much planning, so no complaints here. That said, a quick look at their posted schedule would save a lot of people the disappointment I saw in other reviews. The staff at reception were kind and informative, and the gift shop was just as welcoming. You can tell they care about the guests and take pride in making it a warm, accessible space. The area felt safe, with visible security in the parking lot, and everything was clean and well-maintained. Even with one dome closed, the others were phenomenal. It was a perfect retreat on a chilly early spring day-warm, peaceful, and beautiful. We took photos, had some laughs, and enjoyed a truly calming atmosphere among the greenery.

2 months agoGrowing up in a different part of the state, I had never been to the Domes. We were looking for an adventure after eating lunch near downtown and decided to finally check them out. I’m so glad we did. They’re beautiful. We went on a chilly, but sunny, winter day and it felts so great to see the color of all the plants and soak in the light. I would recommend the domes to people visit the area and wanting to see something unique, as well as a stop to visit again and again. We had a lovely time and would happily go back,

3 weeks agoFour stars because it was a little underwhelming compared to what I remembered from YEARS ago. The tropical done was the best one this visit. The desert dome was decent, and the show done was okay. The coolest part of the show dome was the mini trains going around. Overall, though, it wasn't what I expected it to be. I am a plant lover, so I will be back to visit again.

4 months agoMitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory is an absolutely wonderful place to visit! Whether you’re coming with family, kids, or just friends, it’s an enjoyable experience for everyone. We had such a great time exploring the beautiful displays and learning about different plants. The atmosphere is relaxing, educational, and fun, making it perfect for all ages. I highly recommend checking out the gift shop during your visit. It has a fantastic selection of themed books for children about plants and nature—such a thoughtful addition to the experience! This place is a true gem and a must-visit for anyone who appreciates the beauty of plants and a peaceful environment.
