a month agoTruly a cool place to visit to learn about the past, present & future of American money. The Money Museum is cool for Adults & kids. Pictures are allowed everywhere except for the money vault. There is a real gold bar that you can view. Best of all the museum is free and they give you a small bag of shredded money as a gift & a small journal.

a month agoWe stopped here after touring the WW1 museum. It's free to enter, and you have to go through security check, similar to airport security. It was a nest little museum, I especially liked that you could actually watch them count and pack the money up in the back. You also got to try and lift the gold bar. They also had a free souvenir of shredded money.

5 months agoVery cool place with some interactions. Lots of reading but kid friendly stuff. 7+ I would guess. You have to walk through metal detectors. They take keeping the facility safe very serious. I mean there could be literal billions in that place. They literally have 40 million just sitting on the wall. (Spoiler: it’s way more than you can fit in a black duffel bag Oceans 11 style) But really, lots of reading really cool coins. Lots of other things are are interactive. You can take 2 bags of shredded money. The guard literally told me, it’s ok, we have more in the back *wink* All in all, with kids you can burn an hour in there. As an adult and like to learn and read. Maybe 2 Would recommend.

3 months agoA must visit when visiting KC/Missouri. It’s next to WWI memorial. We were really surprised that we had missed this museum last time when we were in KC. It’s very informative and interesting. It has displays of coins from the 17th century until now. It’s a free museum. Be prepared for a security check before entering the museum.

2 months agoA really good Museum! The displays were well done and varied. Something for everyone: history, trivia, interactive displays, souvenir photos, and postcards!
