Insider tips
- **Before buying shoes:** Thoroughly try them on in-store and explicitly clarify the return policy, as they may refuse returns for items worn even briefly.
- **For sales:** Exercise caution with complex promotions (like BOGO shoe sales) and confirm all terms and conditions upfront to avoid multiple visits or disappointment.
- **For unique items:** This store is a good option if you are specifically looking for specialty outdoor or camping gear that is hard to find elsewhere locally.
- **Pricing:** Plan to visit during sales for the best value, as regular prices are often comparable to other retailers.
Good to know before you go
- Purchasing shoes if you are uncertain about comfort or fit, due to the store's strict return policy.
- Relying on complex sales promotions without a clear understanding of all terms and conditions, as they can lead to frustration.
- Visiting if you expect consistently attentive and universally welcoming customer service, due to reports of inconsistent treatment.
- Very strict and unhelpful return policy, particularly for shoes, even if worn for a short period (1.5 hours) for sizing/comfort testing.
- Inconsistent and potentially discriminatory customer service, with reports of some customers being ignored while others are greeted warmly.
- Value
- Prices are described as 'good for a specialty store' or 'average' compared to other retailers. Sales are highlighted as the best opportunity for better pricing. The sentiment suggests paying a premium for quality/specialty items ('good things come and a price'). Potential hidden costs include wasted time and frustration from problematic sales and return policies.
What parents say
"They wouldn’t return shoes I bought from them in less than 18 hours of time. They said the shoes were worn. The shoes had no wear & tear & were worn for only hour and half but returned due to uncomfortable size."

"This location is not as big as the one a couple miles away but they still are worth the visit. The staff is very helpful and nice. Most of the prices are good for a specialty store and many items are not available at any other retailers locally. I see lots of really cool items I wish I had when we last went camping."

"This is one great place to go buy shoes backpacks drinking glasses from yeti or any other big distributor. The staff is always nice friendly and welcome to help you. If you catch a sale then the prices are even better but they do average by the same as prices everywhere else. But at least here you can go try it on. Give these guys a try and if you feel like you're paying too much then maybe this is not the place for you because good things come and a price."
