a month agoThe reason to come here is for Sergey! He’s incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, and always goes the extra mile to help everyone feel confident and supported—whether you’re brand new or a seasoned climber. Sergey has such great energy and is genuinely passionate about the community here. If you get the chance to interact with him, you’re in for a treat! This gym is lucky to have him. Highly recommend!

5 months agoRoute setting: 5/5 - great routes. Gear: 2/5 - extremely run down gear, mist bring your own. Owner really needs to resupply rentals… but they do have the bare necessities. Location: 8/5 - just ridiculously cool views. Despite the shortcomings here, it’s worth a visit. (The scooter area is off limits here, but there is a bus line) Staff: 5/5 - chill, good vibes. Notes: The other comments here about walls being bare or shut down are true. For such a beautiful gym, it’s a shame things go unattended here and walls are taped off. There is enough to go around but it’s far from perfect here.

3 weeks agoI was thinking pricey, but it’s really no more expensive than any other climbing gym. Movement has everything, big walls, bouldering, weights, yoga, tension boards, you name it, they got it. The view of the bay from the windows is incredible, like breathtakingly gorgeous. Personal opinion: I wasn’t super stoked on some of the routes I did, some were super fun, but not many routes in my style and some holds were a bit old and polished, but to be fair, that’s me trying to be critical. Sweet gym, not my vibe, but I recognize a beautiful gym when I see one.

6 months agoI pay an absurd amount of money for you to close the bouldering area for multiple consecutive days. For people that o ly get to come in once or twice a week. This sucks. I'm going to switch to touchstone. Update: it's 10 days after they first shut down bouldering walls, and they still don't have them all opened back up. Canceled membership. Update 2: one week post competition. There are still 2 walls that remain unset. Can't believe people pay $110 a month for blank walls.

a week agoBeautiful location, though a bit out of the way for most SF residents. Sadly, while the price has increased noticably over the last few years, what you actually get for your membership has decreased. The mats are wonky in many places. The setting is extremely basic and boring now, and the kilter board has numerous broken lights. There aren't very many free weights, but they do try to pack a reasonable number of cardio machines into the space. One bright spot is the rowing machines, which seem like the fly wheel or fans must've been replaced. Either that or they just do a much much better job keeping them clean than other gyms.
