If you’re considering signing your child up for the NYS Baseball League, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. This league has proven to be completely inconsistent and biased in its decision-making. Rather than fairly evaluating situations and trying to do right by all parties, they repeatedly take sides, often ignoring their own rule book in the process. It’s frustrating and disheartening to see a league that’s supposed to promote teamwork, fairness, and sportsmanship fail to uphold its own standards. When disputes arise, they don’t handle them in a professional or transparent manner, leaving parents and players feeling unheard and dismissed. The worst part? There are other leagues out there that prioritize fairness, structure, and player development. If you want your child to play in an environment where rules matter and everyone gets treated equally, I highly recommend looking into other options. NYS Baseball League might seem appealing at first, but it’s simply not worth the frustration and disappointment. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.

As a paying parent, coach, or player, you’d expect fairness, respect, and accountability from an organization like NYS Sports, but their baseball program falls drastically short. It’s become glaringly obvious that they play favorites, siding with long-standing teams regardless of the evidence presented against them. This blatant bias is a disservice to everyone involved—especially the paying parents and players who deserve a fair and safe environment. Recently, a team that has been with the organization for years threatened opposing parents with violence, and their male coaches even lunged at women on the opposing team. Instead of addressing these unacceptable actions appropriately, NYS Sports chose to ignore the evidence and protect the aggressors. This isn’t just favoritism—it’s negligence. They preach sportsmanship but their staff member, Marshall, is the biggest bully of them all. Parents and coaches have repeatedly voiced concerns, but they are dismissed or outright ignored. This lack of accountability is toxic and undermines the trust that families place in the organization. The fact that such behavior is tolerated and even enabled by NYS Sports speaks volumes about their priorities. To anyone considering this program: think twice. If you value fairness, safety, and integrity, look elsewhere. NYS Sports has proven that they prioritize loyalty to certain teams over the well-being and respect of the broader community.

I just wanted to express my gratitude towards the NYS and the field director of this facility(Rusty Lyons Park). Many teams were having issues a couple of seasons ago with the referees. The Director listened, took note and made the necessary adjustments to improve the integrity of the games, the safety of the players and the over all experience for all involved. I will be the first to agree that there are always going to be parents and coaches that take it too far. Unfortunately that is part of it, and we all have to find a way to navigate through it, respectfully. I just wanted to say that I have seen a great improvement in the quality of referees and it is certainly appreciated.

Don't waste your money or your childs time on this organization. It's absolutely not worth it at all. Their rating should be a clue. Less then 3 stars.

I have been a Coach at NYS for 5 years and my teams has done great. It is a great start for kids to learn the fundamental for any sport.
