2 weeks agoBeautiful botanical garden. Very serene and peaceful. Recommend taking the tram tour first to get you familiar of the grounds. Many beautiful paths through the different gardens. Only thing I wish is that there was more labeling of the plants throughout the garden. Can’t wait to see the new addition completed.

2 weeks agoHave been coming here for years with my family. There's so much to see, well maintained trails, gorgeous flower gardens, interesting scultures and fountains, etc. They also have a nice gift shop and food trucks are around certain days/times of the week. There's a big kid area where kids can run around in water sprinklers and do activities, etc. It's peaceful here and you see a lot of wildlife

2 weeks agoThe Norfolk Botanical Garden is an absolute gem! From the moment you enter, you’re surrounded by stunning landscapes, vibrant blooms, and peaceful walking trails that make it feel like a true escape from the hustle of daily life. Each garden area is beautifully curated and offers something unique—whether it’s the serenity of the Japanese Garden, the colorful bursts in the Rose Garden, or the magical Butterfly House. The grounds are meticulously maintained, and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. I especially loved the tram ride, which gave a great overview and helped us plan what areas to explore more in-depth. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing stroll, a family outing, or even a quiet moment of reflection. Highly recommend visiting during peak bloom season—it’s breathtaking. Can’t wait to return!

a month agoThis is a beautiful place to visit while in Virgina! This place is easily over 100 acres or even more. All the details, the grounds, the views, the quietness, and birds all over are just perfect! Oh, there is an on-site coffee truck. The coffee is delicious! All staff were super nice, the place is so clean! They have a small gift store where you can grab a thing or two. I would definitely do this again! Go prepared, bug spray, a picnic would be perfect, a blanket to lay in beautiful places around the gardens. Wish I would have known more about it. I would have been prepared! Next time! Don't miss finding all the birds!

2 weeks agoThe bonsai tree area was super cool! They explain their methods and even how long the trees have been in training! There are so many cool areas to explore and you really cannot see everything in one day. It’s awesome that they offer a membership which is perfect for someone like me who can experiment with my photography skills here. On the side of the parking lot, you can climb up to a little ridge area and watch planes take off from the airport! Not only that, but you can also listen to the air traffic controllers that speak through the speakers. There is a little tram that goes through the park and stops at different sites through the gardens which is perfect for ADA.
