3 months agoVery easy to get lost, but using your phone gps can lead you back to the parking lot. Dogs loved it! Went a little after 1:00 on a Thursday. Maybe five other cars in the lot.

5 months agoOak Cliff Nature Preserve: Nature with a Side of “Wait, What Was That?” Oak Cliff Nature Preserve is a unique blend of urban charm and wilderness adventure—emphasis on unique. Nestled in the middle of the hood, it’s a small patch of woods that feels like nature’s attempt to coexist with the city, though it might be losing the battle. The trails are decent, but the bullet holes in the signs give you pause, like nature itself is throwing out warnings. And then there are the trees—decorated with strange, dangling objects that make you question whether you’ve wandered into an art installation or a scene from a true crime documentary. Despite the sketch factor, there’s something oddly captivating about the place. It’s raw, rugged, and absolutely not boring. Just don’t go alone, avoid after dark, and maybe skip that “shortcut” trail with the broken beer bottles. Two stars for safety, five stars for a memorable experience. Average it out to three and bring your curiosity—and maybe some running shoes.

a year agoIt was my first time there and I throughly enjoyed the trails. Alot of decent inclines and declines but overall a good leisure hike. I definitely feel bikers would enjoy it alot. I wish people would stop throwing trash in or around hiking trails. We all should respect nature and help keep it clean. So happy to see good clear signs posted that help guide us through the trails. Yes, there are some areas that are a bit sketchy but, if you bring a buddy you should be okay. I definitely would go back and with my family again.

a year agoBeautiful, peaceful, smelled fresh, full of butterflies. Highly recommend to get away and in nature. Interesting little spots. Scan QR code at the beginning so you always know where you are! Bring a trinket to leave at the trinket spot, if you see a lil green Dino 🦖 that’s from us!
