a month agoLast weekend, my wife, my son, and I attended a 7-year-old’s birthday party at Oglebay Good Zoo, and we had a fantastic experience. There's a special party room where we enjoyed food, sang "Happy Birthday," and even got to see some animals up close right inside the room. The zoo itself has both indoor and outdoor areas. While it's not a large zoo, the animals are unique and very interesting. The staff was incredibly helpful, well-organized, and attentive throughout our visit. One of the highlights was when everyone went to a separate room for an animal presentation. A staff member introduced three different animals that the kids could touch, and adults had the option to step out if they preferred. The presenter was amazing—very knowledgeable and great with the kids. Overall, I highly recommend Oglebay Good Zoo as a place to celebrate children’s birthday parties. It was fun, educational, and really well run.

5 months agoOlgebay is smaller in size than others, but larger in wonder and amazement at the animals who inhabit this zoo. I enjoyed snapping pictures of the animals and learning about their habits. From snakes and alligators to bears and leopards, from eagles and wolves to monkeys and birds, there is something to bring out the "wild spirit" in our own heart and soul.

5 months agoI only saw the laser show and the small indoor section of the zoo. The laser show was fun and well done. The animals in the indoor section were cute. Tamarin monkeys, an albino alligator, large turtles, and snakes were there.

a month agoAwesome zoo. The Good Zoo is so good! Not tons of animals but saw a few that I've never seen before at larger zoos- and up close.

4 months agoI recently hosted my daughter’s 8th birthday party at the Good Zoo, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience! From start to finish, everything was wonderfully organized, and our conservationist guide, Decklan, was absolutely outstanding. He engaged the kids with his knowledge and passion for wildlife, making the entire experience both fun and educational. The activities were a hit with the group, especially the art project, which allowed the kids to express their creativity. The night-time tour with night vision access was a thrilling adventure that had everyone buzzing with excitement. Our daytime private tour was equally impressive, providing an up-close look at the animals along with an educational lesson that captivated the kids’ attention. My daughter declared it the best birthday ever, and her favorite moment was learning about the red wolves! It was heartwarming to see her so enthusiastic about wildlife and conservation. Overall, the Good Zoo sleepover birthday party was well worth the money spent. I can’t thank the staff enough for making this day so special for my daughter and her friends. Many heartfelt thanks from this happy momma! Highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to celebrate a birthday in a unique and meaningful way!
