Good to know before you go
- Expecting specific inflatable kayak models (like the Karve) to last significantly longer than 3 years without any potential issues, especially if the $1400 cost is a concern without considering their excellent post-purchase support.
- If you are on a very tight budget and are looking for the absolute cheapest options, as Paddle North focuses on higher-quality products with a corresponding price point.
- Specific inflatable kayak models (e.g., the Karve kayak) have been reported to stop holding air after just over 3 years, falling outside the typical warranty period.
- While replacements are provided, initial product defects (like a kayak deflating out of the gate) can occur, causing initial disappointment.
- The cost of high-quality items, such as the Karve kayak ($1400), is significant, and parents might initially question the value if anticipating a lifespan well beyond 3 years without considering the company's strong post-purchase support.
- Value
- Products are described as high quality, durable, and made with top-notch materials, positioning them as 'the best floatable equipment on the market'. While specific items like the Karve kayak are a significant investment ($1400), the company's consistent commitment to standing behind its products and offering replacements even years outside warranty periods significantly enhances the long-term value proposition. Customers frequently make multiple purchases, indicating high satisfaction with the perceived value despite the higher price point compared to cheaper, lower-quality alternatives.
What parents say
"I like it here. But what I like more is that every encounter with a Paddle North employee has been filled with enthusiasm and encouragement. That’s exactly the energy you want when you’re buying sporting or hobby equipment. You can tell they are all passionate and that makes buying from them more exciting and reassuring. The customer service is outstanding and you know they’ll stand behind their products. They want you to love the board (or other products) you purchase, and they’ll settle for nothing less than happy customers."

"(Will update after full use of products this summer) The customer service is quality that is remarkable! The products dont come any shorter either! The past couple years I noticed Paddle North at the state fair. Slowly, growing larger in size. If you follow any of Paddle North's products or visit their website, you'll likely notice that everything "just makes sense" in terms of products, specs, accessories, and design. We decided to purchase some inflatable kayaks and other toys for the water this season. The first thing we noticed when we arrived in store was how simple, yet clean and organ"

"My original post is contained below. I once had a boss who told me that “It’s impossible to always GET it right, our job is to always MAKE it right.” Well — hats off to Paddle North for going above and beyond. After posting my initial review I was contacted by Lindsey K. who (after we shared appropriate documentation of the problems) will be replacing our kayaks with new ones (YES, in the middle of the Caribbean). I am more than impressed with the response and outcome. Thank you Lindsey and thank you Paddle North for both standing behind your product and taking extraordinary care of your "
