a year agoThis was a fun little adventure. I rented a kayak here the other day (a double) with my friend Maggie. It was almost 20$ a person, which I honestly thought was a little excessive, hence the removal of one star. We went on the smaller route, but be warned! There was not an actual route, it was just a large pond/small lake. I was a little disappointed because I thought it would be like a river or something, but apparently, that is the larger route (which is more expensive I believe). However, we made the most of the situation and spend a couple of hours on the large pond/small lake getting tan. Another thing we liked is how easy it was to get the kayak because we did not need to talk to anybody! (Introverts this is a blessing). They gave us a code to use at the lockers and we got the kayak/paddles/life jackets out of these lockers. At one point, the paddle got stuck when we were trying to get it out, so I climbed in the locker and fixed it. On the large pond/small lake, there was quite a bit of seaweed/green squishy stuff, however, it was okay because I was safe in my kayak. Although it was a little hard to paddle through, we did our best and made it to the more clear areas. The coolest things to see were the flowers! They had large white flowers and they were so peaceful to view and really put my heart at ease. I felt like one with nature. The kayaks were very easy to get in and out because they had this slidey thing where you just slide them into the water and hop on in! If you come here, be sure to bring water and stay hydrated! Also bring a snack or small meal because food is good for you. I had a sandwich with goat cheese, avocado, and turkey bacon.
