Detailed Insights

Patricia LeBlanc Park offers a broad range of outdoor recreational facilities, including a playground for various age groups, a walking trail, sports courts, and picnic areas, designed for active family outings and gatherings. Standout Features

  • Playground equipment suitable for multiple age groups.

Teens (13+ years): Walking trail, workout stations, basketball, and tennis courts could offer activities, but the reported safety issues are a major deterrent.

Ideal For

Given the severe and consistent reports of drug activity and safety concerns, this park is not recommended as ideal for any family outing with children.

💡Pro Tips from Reviews

  • **Prioritize Safety First:** Parents must be acutely aware of and prepared to manage the reported high incidence of drug dealing and public drug use if considering a visit.
  • **Plan for Restroom Needs:** Bring hand sanitizer as there are no permanent restrooms, only a portable potty.
  • **Consider Alternatives:** Due to significant safety concerns, parents might find more suitable and safer alternatives for family entertainment.
  • **Maintain High Vigilance:** If you do choose to visit, constant and active supervision of children is critical, and be prepared to leave immediately if uncomfortable.

Things to Consider

  • Reported to be a drug selling corner with high traffic of individuals engaged in drug transactions.
  • The parking lot is frequently occupied by individuals smoking weed, rolling blunts, and waiting for drug customers, posing a significant safety hazard.
  • Instances of individuals smoking marijuana directly on the children's play area have been observed.
  • Lack of permanent restrooms; only a portable potty is available on-site, raising hygiene concerns.
  • The presence of illicit activities creates an unsafe and unwelcoming environment for families and children.

Price & Value

Free public park access. However, the value is severely diminished by significant safety risks and the presence of illicit activities.

Accessibility & Special Needs

  • Paved paths are available, which may aid in mobility.
  • A parent with a 'son who has a special need' found the park clean and well-kept, but the overall environment was not suitable due to drug use.
  • No specific accessibility accommodations (e.g., sensory-friendly features, adaptive play equipment) are mentioned.

🍎Food & Drink Policy

  • Outside food and drinks are implied to be allowed, with a picnic area and covered gazebo designed for 'cookouts or get-togethers'.

🚗Parking Info

  • A parking lot is available on-site.
  • **Major Concern:** The parking lot is explicitly mentioned as being a hub for drug-related activities, with individuals smoking marijuana and waiting for customers.

👥Crowd Levels

  • The park is often not full and not always crowded, suggesting lower visitor numbers at times.

🛡️Safety Features

  • No explicit safety features such as staff supervision, security patrols, or controlled access points are mentioned.
  • **Significant safety concerns reported:** Pervasive drug dealing and public drug use directly within the park and its parking lot.

When to Avoid

  • **Anytime if child safety is a primary concern:** Due to frequent drug dealing and use reported in the parking lot and directly on play areas.
  • **Parents with young children or children with special needs:** The environment poses an unacceptable risk.
  • **Families seeking a peaceful, secure, and unsupervised play environment:** Lack of enforcement against illicit activities makes this unlikely.
  • **If clean, permanent restrooms are a necessity.**

It's a great setup playground. Kids love it. But what makes these 2 stars is that it's a drug selling corner with lots of traffic of people coming in and out, and they are not visiting the park to play but to get drugs. Also, the parking lot is full of men who are smoking weed and rolling blunts, waiting for their next customers to show up.

My girls really liked this park because the playground has games, swings, and slides for multiple age groups. There is a great picnic area, paved path, and a field area. There is also a gazebo that is perfect for parties. The only thing that bothers us is there isn't a restroom. However, there is a portable potty on site for those who choose to use it.

Love this park has plenty of room and things to do for the kids. When I take the kids to the park we pile up and go here it isn't always full. It's usually clean not alot of trash and the kids all seem pretty nice if they are there when we go.

Was very disappointed!! I wanted this to be my to go park for my son who has a special need. It was close to home, clean, & well kept park. Unfortunately, a young man showed up and started smoking pot, up on the play area. I know he was a neighborhood teen because he walked there. And the bad thing is he did it without a care in the world, like he does that on a regular basis.

Nice park with a great walking trail. Fun play ground equipment for the kids, some workout stations, a basketball goal, tennis court and covered gazebo for family cookouts or get-togethers.
