5 months agoPlaygrounds for toddlers and for 5-12 y/o were in good shape. Public restrooms were convenient and functional. There are lots of tree roots all over which our daughter liked climbing on. Unfortunately she later was running and tripped on one, ending our day at the playground. The various soccer, baseball, and basketball facilities seemed in good shape. It was nice that park staff in blue shirts were on site. Unfortunately, about 4 of them hung out on a bench talking to each other the whole time we were there. For how busy the park and playground were, I am surprised that there are not more playground sets.

a year agoA beautiful place to relax and soak in nice weather. Came here on a gorgeous January afternoon to enjoy the weather and get some sunshine. Quite park with shaded areas for a nice picnic. however, be aware there are large iguanas that stay in the trees and we did witness one fall out of the tree (not from the cold) and almost hit someone. Additionally, there are homeless that hang out in the park as well. They were pleasant and did not bother at all, but be aware especially if you have small children that we did witness one urinating in the park. There are public restrooms near the restaurant in the park however. Overall, we had a great day hanging out in the park. Street parking available for a few but we didn’t have much trouble finding a spot on a Sunday afternoon!

7 months agoPeacock Park sits right next to the Coconut Grove entertainment district, and its situs is simply the perfect corner waterfront park which caters to all, and quite busy on the weekends. It connects the world renown Bayshore District, and its modern luxurious condos with the historic Coconut Grove, which takes us back in time to the quaint shops and its arts jewel, the famous Coconut Grove Theater. Back in the early eighties, this was the one and only spot catering to entertaining visitors and locals with magnificent restaurants, shops and bars. The place to go on Fridays and Saturday nights. For daytime fun seekers, the strip and its surroundings, particularly Peacock Park which hosted the Coconut Grove Arts Fair, the bed race festival, and many other cultural events including reggae and Caribbean heritage celebration, and a lot more. I have now recently visited the park in two separate occasions and the park is as vibrant as ever, especially a lot of baseball training, frisbee throwing and even birthday celebrations.
